Well I did forget one thing and that Lee Fowler is our AD and probably will never fire Lowe on his own.
But seriously after we go about 14-18 this year will Lowe stick around?
Also will another bad year sway these recruits? Do top 10 recruits really want to come to a bottom feeding ACC school? 6/27/2008 12:40:21 AM |

yes, and rightly so. ppl need to quit bandwagon hating a guy who is one of our greatest basketball traditions and start being fans... who is fowler going to hire at this point in the game that is so much better than Sid? everyone was riding his dick at this time last year...6/27/2008 10:12:23 PM |

Do you really want me to go there? Vinny Del Negro could have been for one.....or Bob McKillop. But let's not start that argument.
I was never riding Sid's dick. When he came in we said NCAAs most likely in year 2 and almost a must in 3 so why are we changing our views?6/28/2008 12:04:23 AM |

2010 PG Ryan Harrow is visiting this weekend. Could he possibly commit this weekend?
I think I need to stop following recruiting so closely. I had a dream last night that I took the place of a ref at a basketball game that John Wall was playing in. He made a great play and as we were running back I said, "hey John great play. You should go to State." Then after the game he came over and talked to me about State and who all was recruiting him and a bunch of little kids came over b/c they thought he was amazing and wanted his autograph. 6/28/2008 12:14:03 PM |

I hope Harrow commits Sunday. It'd be nice to let CJ Leslie know he'll have someone to dish him the ball in 2 years (damn, that's a long way away). Apparently he has a solid offer so I guess we'll see. 6/29/2008 2:39:45 AM |

Since Javi would be a senior when the 2010 class comes in, and if Wall were to come here he'd be gone after one year, do any of you think we'd take two PGs in 2010? Perhaps go after Phil Taylor. Taylor is very steady and always makes the right decision with the ball. Supposedly he very rarely makes mistakes with the ball. Also Sid is considering running with two point guards. Taylor could be a poor man's D.J. Augustin, a guy that wants to get all of his teammates involved before him. I'd like to have both and I think both will grow in size. Puberty isn't over for them yet. 6/29/2008 11:20:59 AM |

Harrow excited about today's visit
NORCROSS, Ga. — The North Carolina State elite camp experience left such an impression on rising junior point guard Ryan Harrow, he couldn't wait to come back to Raleigh with his mother.
Harrow, who played three games with Louis Williams Elite 17s on Saturday in Norcross, Ga., is flying to Raleigh today, arriving around 9:30 a.m., where he will meet his mother, Fern Harrow, and his brother-in-law, Erasto Hatchett, who is an assistant coach at the Concord (N.C.) Cannon School, his former school. Harrow transferred back home to Marietta (Ga.) Walton High last January.
"My mom wanted to meet [NCSU] coach Sidney Lowe about my scholarship and me committing early," Harrow said.
Harrow attended the elite camp for two days, June 11-12, yet the experience could alter his life.
"I expected it to be good and for them to show me some love and all that, but with the way they treated me and talked to me about how I play and that they wanted me, it kind of surprised me," Harrow said. "No school had actually talked to me like that before."
Harrow attended the Clemson elite camp the weekend of June 20-21, but even though he scored 50 points in a game, he didn't get the same feeling from the Tigers' coaches.
"It was still good, but not the same," Harrow said. "I thought they would talk to me after my first game when I scored 50 points. They were all right, but NC State's camp was much better."
Harrow hopes to see more of the NC State campus and for Coach Lowe to meet his mother.
"I want to talk to the coach and then take a tour of the campus, so my mom can see how it is and get a feel for the campus," Harrow said. "She'll be able to tell me that I can make the decision right now."
Harrow received his first offer from UT-Chattanooga, and Auburn has also offered. He has received interest from Clemson, Kentucky and Texas, among others.
The new-found interest could be short-lived, but today will help decide whether the recruiting process continues or not.
"This is the first year that I've gotten all these letters and for coaches to start calling me," Harrow said. "My mom is happy and she doesn't want it to stop already, since it just started. My mom is right there for me when it comes to basketball and where school is concerned. My dad, Mark, he lives in Marietta, while my mom lives in Douglasville, Ga. I'll be living with my dad during the week, but my mom on the weekends."
The NCSU visit capped off a wild weekend for Harrow. He was going to attend the Texas elite camp, but then decided to visit NC State. The new plan was to fly to Atlanta to Charlotte at 6 p.m. Saturday, but the opportunity to play three games with Lou Will Elite and NC State target Lorenzo Brown was too good to pass up, so he delayed his flight to today.
Harrow helped Lou Will Elite go 2-1 at the GBOA South tourney at Norcross High. Harrow was credited with 13 points in the first game, a 88-53 slaughter against the Georgia Tornadoes. He then added 15 points in a 72-68 win against the Arkansas Hawks, with Lou Will Elite capitalizing on the Hawks' several technical fouls.
In nightcap, which was the third game in a six-hour period, Harrow scored 11 points, but the Jacksonville Lee Bulls proved to be the superior team 79-59.
The 6-foot, 150-pound Harrow can see the difference in his play now compared to when he played point guard for Cannon School.
"I think there's been a big improvement," said Harrow, 17. "I was scoring then, but now I'm scoring, making assists and playing better defense. I've gotten a little bit bigger. I'm healthy now, where before I blew my disc out in my back. Now, I've gotten into a weightlifting class, and I have a personal trainer who has always been for me since I was younger." 6/29/2008 2:28:55 PM |

So besides UT-Chatanooga and Auburn offering and Clemson, Kentucky, and Texas being seriously interested, here's who are some of the other schools that have shown interest in Harrow:
St. John's Wake Forest Davidson Cincinnati Florida Marquette
Not a bad list of schools. Wake is an ACC school and is very well known right now among recruits b/c of Tim Duncan and Chris Paul's success in the NBA. Cincy is a Big East school that is known for their basketball over the years. Recruits still know about the Bearcats b/c of Kenyon Martin. They also had a Top 15 recruiting class recently. St. John's is a Big East school, and while they aren't what they once were they can still attract a few quality recruits every now and then. There's something about playing in MSG that some recruits love. Florida just won back-to-back national championships the other two years. Nuff said there. Marquette is a Big East team with good basketball tradition and is frequently in the Top 25.
I think Harrow is about to blow up. Maybe not how John Wall did, but within time should he commit we will all be pleased with it, even those wanting Sid fired already. I mean the dude just scored 50 points in a game at Clemson's camp. That's impressive no matter what kind of competition he was facing. 6/29/2008 11:56:06 PM |

^^the coolest thing about paul was when he scored 63 points in the high school game after his grandfather died. his grandfather was 63 when he passed, so paul stopped playing for the rest of the game to honor him.

Sounds like a solid, 4-year guard. Question though to anyone who has seen him play: what's his game like? Hopefully DJ Augustin-esque.

If you're John Wall, does this affect your decision at all?
I don't think so. I think it's no secret that Wall is likely a one and done and think this is excellent news for Sid to be thinking ahead...IF we get Wall, we'll be covered for the future also.
Can you imagine the recruiting class we could have the next two years?
Wall, Favors, Brown, Wood
Leslie, Harrow
It's a big if to get all those, but can you imagine....haha.
The 2009 class would be the #1 class easily, even without one of those listed. And the 2010 class has potential to be top 10, but definitely top 25 caliber.
I'm seriously getting excited about our recruiting prospects. 6/30/2008 12:03:09 PM |

Looks like Lowe likes to go for the 2 for 1 deals.
Mays and Wood.
Wall and Leslie.
Brown and Harrow.
Heck, if their good I'll take 3 for 1. Of course it only makes sense that he would keep an eye out for undiscovered talent while trying to reel in the next big one. 6/30/2008 12:28:07 PM |

I'd expect to see Harrow in the low 4* range as it appears right now.
Also, this doesn't affect Wall at all. Wall comes in 2009, Harrow 2010. Even if Wall stayed an extra year(he won't), Harrow wouldn't take his spot. 6/30/2008 12:32:21 PM |

2010 Targets
Tayshawn Mabry (6-5 forward/Rocky Mount): I believe State has offered this soph., who also seems to be a top WFU target; nice reports from camps Tobias Harris (6-7 F/NY): developing post player has some ACC interest, including I think NCSU
Phil Taylor (5-9 PG/Ga.): seems to have mostly ACC list, presumably expected to grow some? Seems like he would be off State's list with the Harrow commitment Tyler Mabry (6-1 SG/Md): seems like Harrow commitment would end this (potential?) recruitment by State " |

seriously? I know wall is good but without another big, our tallest kids are costner at 6-9 (assuming he's still here), horner at 6-8, and smith at 6-7. Everyone else is 6-5 or below and costner and horner will be seniors. It seems like we need depth in the front court before an all-american point guard (as much as it pains me to say that).6/30/2008 4:10:36 PM |

^^ guards dominate big man play when it comes to college
a strong set of guards can out play any big men really...from what I have seen
just look at Nova last year...take another for instance in Memphis...no REAL solid huge big men...UVA was kind of that way 2 years ago even Clemson
I know they had at least one big man, but still you see the point that guard play affects big man play...its a lot tougher to get a GREAT set of guards in college than a developmental big man.
personally, id rather have the guards but taking at least ONE big man wouldnt be bad
