I think Americans care about football. Hockey is kind of 4th string when it comes to importance. A lot of people I know wtach hockey during the playoffs, but aren't too hard core about it during the regular season.5/17/2009 3:07:45 PM |

i guess the people you know in NORTH CAROLINA, the epicenter of all that is hockey, are probably a good example about how all of america feels about hockey.
but whatever. this thread isn't about hockey. i was just providing an example.

You'd expect him to be professional.
SAF has never not congratulated the winning manager, even back when Wenger won, and they hated each other's guts.
Rafa is just a petulant, fat, arrogant shit, and he deserves every bit of shit he gets from now on out. 5/18/2009 10:12:59 AM |

lol only United fans give a shit about this
it's not that big of a deal. Yeah, it was kind of silly he didn't congratulate the manager but why the fuck does Ferguson need to be singled out for praise... he did congratulate the team, you know the actual players who won the title, so stop acting like he went on some long speech about how they didn't deserve the title or something 5/18/2009 10:47:42 AM |
elduderino All American 4343 Posts user info edit post |
I think both SAF and Rafa are pretentious twats, but Rafa does seem to be more of a crybaby. Oh and also it took me a second to figure out what SAF stood for. I used it although I hate the use of acronyms for names.

^^if youre gonna congratulate the team, why wouldnt you congratulate the manager? if this all stems from that interview he had back in dec or jan then that is ridiculous. SAF hasnt done or said anything to instigate benitez to be a douche, yet benitez decided to be one anyway. id be fine with him not congratulating united in general rather than congratulating the team but not the manager. im not sure why hes trying to add more fuel to the fire, but i guess he has nothing better to do while still sitting int he backseat to united.
i really never had that much against liverpool before benitez, but this turd has caused me to really despise 'pool.
why does he need to be singled out? hes the first manager in english football to win 3 consecutive titles twice, he now has 11 epl titles...im not gonna continue with his accolades, this is retarded to not show someone who is a legend respect, especially one who has been knighted. if you need an american example, its like roy williams congratulating duke for winning a title but not giving coach k any acknowledgment and even pointing out that he doesnt want to...but wait! the players ran up down and the floor and made the baskets. they called all the timeouts and made their own plays...blah blah. seriously come on...

But it's not like he said, "Congratuations to the team, FUCK Sir though!"
The media knew they didn't like each other and he was just responding to questions. I'm not really defending him because it was stupid not to just congratulate him and avoid all this shit but I still don't understand why the fuck it matters to anybody except Ferguson. And I don't even think he should give a shit.. he has the titles and the best team in the world, who gives a shit what Rafa Benitez thinks?

If that's not saying "FUCK YOU" to SAF, I don't know what is.
Rafa is a fucking shitbag. All he does is whine about why he'll "never win"
I'm reminded of a song by Brother Ali - Backstage Pacin'.
But they mad salty cause they wore they fuckin matchin shirts And the crowd didn't feel them and they went on first It's the monitor, the soundman, it's the muthafuckin mics Cats in this state are haters and the whole crowd's white Don't sleep, your Wu-Tang impression is tight And if blah-blah would have happened, y'all'd had em snappin
except for Rafa it's more like
it's cause the stadium's not big enough, it's no money even though we spent 40 million quid, it's cause Gerrard and Torres were hurt
Nevermind the fact that Liverpool drew 11 games, wasted a perfectly good striker in Robbie Keane, etc etc etc

from what I understood he was pressed by reporters in a couple of questions directly relating to Ferguson... he didn't open with comments like that
but again, why does it hurt your feelings so much? We get it, you hate Liverpool and Benitez - another reason to totally disregard anything he says. I could understand the outrage if it was coming from somebody who you respected or cared about but if he had congratulated Ferguson, would it have made any difference in your opinion of Rafa? Doubt it.5/18/2009 12:58:37 PM |

i know jadn has given his disseration as to why he is a diehard red devil supporter on numerous occasions in this thread and during past EPL threads.
i continue to just be a fan of the league, because it is without a doubt the best league in the world at the moment. i don't have a team, i need to start supporting one though. i don't want to bandwagon it so i'll probably hold off for a little while longer. i was fully prepared to ride the chelsea nuthugging session when shevchenko jumped on board (dated a ukrainian, housed a ukrainian exchange student, etc.) but that fell apart quicker than expected (even if you expected it, you didn't see it coming that quickly). i have a shevchenko chelsea jersey, but it was always a matter of supporting player over team while he was there, i didn't really give 2 shits about the rest of the squad, other than essien who i enjoy. i was an AC Milan fan when he was in his prime, but i've always just followed his career.] 5/18/2009 10:31:54 PM |

I really think Carra would kill someone if given the chance.
A few years ago when he was playing at RB and got the call up for England, he took out one of his teammates for snickering at the idea of him playing for England
I love him to death, no one cares more (moreso than Steve IMO), but the guy is a nut and actually cares too much. He canceled a charity event in the fall because he conceded an own goal against Hull the day before.

the rumors of man city going cash spending nuts for the summer have begun. i read a rumor about a 150 mil pound fee for messi, prob not true, but no telling where the rumor came from.
but if man city really do shit like this this summer i may literally throw up. chelski was bad enough spending like 300-500 mil pounds to make a team of all stars in a 2-3 yr period (i dont remember the exact numbers but its somewhere in that area). if city pay more than 75 mil for even 1 player it will be ludicrous. the only way they are gonna be able to get anyone their is to offer them stupidly large contracts since man city has no history whatsoever... 5/20/2009 12:15:15 PM |

I'd guess Burnley, Birmingham, and Hull. I think Sunderland's going to be better next year, they've cleaned house somewhat, and American Ellis Short just bought 100% stake in the team, and he plans on spending a lot.
