Yeah I am sick of all the political shit on ESPN. Some of it is warranted like with the Kaep stuff, but they should keep their coverage high level and less opinionated on that. I still have insider as I love the Keith Law, Olney, Kurk coverage on MLB. Otherwise I mostly ignore their stories.

ESPN is in some trouble. Outside of live broadcast their programming is awful and doesn't draw eyeballs. I don't think they'll be able to keep charging the same kind of subscriber rates to cable providers. They need to figure out ways to monetize content or they're looking at a downward spiral.

The layoffs got one of our own. Dr. Jerry Punch was let go. Oh well, he's better for Fox, or NBC anyway because I think the Indy 500 is about the only motor sports event left on ESPN/ABC. IMSA, Indy Car, NASCAR, NHRA, WEC, F1, AMA, and pretty much any other motor sports league you can think of is either on Fox, or NBC now.

^^i think it's far less of disgruntled fans dropping ESPN due to politics than people seem to think. in order to drop ESPN you have to likely move down an entire "level" in your cable subscription and lose a lot of other channels in the process. especially since most low level basic cable packages include ESPN and ESPN2. ESPN losing subscribers is almost entirely cord cutters and changes in the way people view television, it would seem to me. and i'd say most people cut the cord to save money, not make a political stance.
