UVA surpassing September predictions doesn't have anything to do with their loss to UMBC.

You seem to be putting more stock in preseason predictions than UVA's actual regular season resume. When keeping it real obsessing over advanced metrics goes wrong

Of course it has nothing to do with the UMBC game. I'm just asking what you think the prediction got wrong about UVA in the preseason????? That model is typically pretty accurate for most teams but when it gets something wrong, we should be able to look back in hindsight and identify the factor causing the discrepancy.

Also, I've been told the regular season doesn't really matter but then how can you judge a team's success based on a seed that is based on the regular season?

I'm just defending Toney Bennett from people shitting on him. Its not just about this game. People including you in this very thread are shitting on him for his entire tournament record and even if he won that game, you would be shitting on him for losing to kentucky or whoever he lost to eventually.

I’m not medical expert but this is more than a flu like cold. I don’t say that because I think panic/hysteria is the right answer (it’s not, of course). We have treatments and vaccines for the flu. We don’t for this. The comparison doesn’t seem fair at all.

I'm not trying to minimalize it to an extreme, and I really do understand the precautions that are in place. I just think there is a social media mass hysteria aspect that seems to drive the speed and severity of the decisions that are made. Whether that's a good or bad thing is yet to be determined, but when a little over 24 hours ago athletic directors were under fire for not allowing fans in arenas to having it a given that every sporting league cancels entire seasons and tournaments is a drastic change.

I guess saying it's a flu like cold was a bad way to phrase it, I'm just saying we don't exactly know what we're dealing with and to tank the sporting world and in turn economy just perpetuates the hysteria
