Wanted a cheap titanium, no maintenance 'dive' watch.
Picked this up recently: Citizen BN0141-53E
I like it a lot. An excellent value and very low key.
The light weight is a plus, as is the wetsuit adjustment. I like the band to be snug for daily wear, but the ease of adjustment is a nice touch when I'm wearing a wetsuit. 9/17/2016 12:39:32 AM |

Looks nice! I've had a titanium Citizen Eco drive for about 15+ years. It was around the time the Eco Drive line was coming out...still kicking like a champ! No issues...ever.
I still cant figure out how I feel about the "cyclops" on a watch (The date magnifier). Even the legendary Rolex Submariner (which this Citizen is clearly an homage towards) has one...I think it was the original and held the patent. I'd be the guy who bought a $10k Submariner and pulled the cyclops off

AFP | Published — Thursday 12 January 2017
A Swiss watchmaker on Thursday unveiled a one-million-euro “Swiss Mad” wristwatch with a case made of local winter cheese and a dial recalling the nation’s distinctive red-and-white flag.(AFP/ H. MOSER & CIE)
ZURICH: A Swiss watchmaker on Thursday unveiled a one-million-euro “Swiss Mad” wristwatch with a case made of local winter cheese and a dial recalling the nation’s distinctive red-and-white flag.
The tongue-in-cheek edition by H.Moser targets new strictures on watchmakers using the “Swiss Made” label who now have to source 60 percent of the components domestically against 50 percent earlier.
The new law came into force at the start of this year. H.Moser has dropped the “Swiss Made” moniker since and said it would also release “the most Swiss watch ever created.”
The dial is smoked red with the four white lacquered indexes indicating every quarter of an hour.
The cheese fringing the case is Vacherin Mont d’Or medaille d’or, which is made in winter, and comes from the same village as Moser CEO Edouard Meylan. It is fortified with resin to hold up to use and time.
Moser said given the new rules “that are lax and insufficient, we respond with derision.”
The steep price tag — 1,081,291 francs ($1.0 million) — is a reference to the date the Swiss Confederation was set up: August 1, 1291.
“All proceeds from the sale of this watch will be used to create a fund to support independent Swiss watchmaking suppliers currently suffering under the difficult economic situation and outsourcing to Asia,” Meylan said.
The “Swiss Mad Watch” will be presented at the four-day international luxury watch show — Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie — which will be held in Geneva from Monday." |

A watch subscription service LOL.
http://www.watchgang.com
Doesn't sound bad at all, actually. There are two tiers:
Quote : | "Watch Gang's Watch of the Month Club
Starting at $25/month for watches worth $50-$150. They are well made, generally using real leather and stainless steel with Japanese Miyota or Seiko movement. These watches are ideal for the collector looking to explore new microbrands at an awesome value. Eligible for the Rolex drawing every Friday." |
Quote : | "Watch Gang Black
Starting at $91/month for watches worth $150 - $500. Watches range from very well known brands to premium microbrands. They generally use automatic / mechanical movements or Swiss Quartz. Overall, the watches are more for the "watch enthusiast" looking to discover an excellent timepiece at an amazing value. Limited memberships available. Eligible for the Rolex drawing every Friday." |
They give out a Rolex every Friday... so if you get lucky, that would be totally amazing!3/19/2017 6:58:51 PM |

I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. Sounds like a way for those value "fake premium" watch makers to drop things that didn't sell.
Your going to get Elitcoritum watch, MSRP $500, made in china, fake Japanese movement, average selling price $50 bux, and the ones you will get from watch-gang are going to be the ones they couldn't unload anywhere else. 4/6/2017 9:29:12 PM |

You seem to like Skeleton style (or even open heart style) watches. Please dont get one with a fake tourbillion like that one The fact that the watch you linked has a fake tourbillion means its probably cheap crap you dont want
Check out Hamilton and Tissot.
I would be wary of anything that calls itself "hand made" and doesn't tell you anything about the movement, and doesn't have a proven movement. They probably buy a cheap chinese movement and "hand make" the dial, which still means you have a cheap chinese watch. I doubt they hand make the movement unless the watch costs $texas, and even so, its likely to not be as reliable as a proven movement and you cannot get it serviced anywhere.

I would like to find a high quality skeleton watch with a leather band. The watches range from 15000 to 28000 yen, or about $135-$245. Price range isn't a problem, but I want quality for that money and not $15 knockoff imitation shit. I don't mind if it's a hand wind vs automatic/battery, though solar skeleton would be tits... 10/19/2017 7:00:51 PM |

I dont like Skeletons, personally. It seems that everyone that gets into watches starts out liking skeletons and then grows out of it...I was no exception. They're quite dressy for an everyday wear
If I had to pick a reasonably priced quality skeleton/open heart watch, I've always thought Hamilton's open hearts were rather different and cool.
https://www.jomashop.com/hamilton-jazzmaster-mens-watch-h32565735.html?utm_source=googleproduct&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=googleproductsearch&pt_source=googleads&pt_medium=cpc&pt_campaign=(ROI)+Shopping+-+Sale+Watches+$500+-+1000&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6rrGqs-A1wIVjFuGCh2meAiXEAQYAiABEgKYbvD_BwE
Hamiltons are awesome swiss watches (now) for the money, and were a former US made brand in PA. Hamilton made itself famous during World War II for its masterful timekeeping pieces that allowed for US forces having more exact navigation, bomb timing, fuse timing, and aiming capability due to the accuracy of thier movements. They have an extensive horological history and played an enormous part in our WWII victory.
Oris is quite a bit more expensive, but makes some really cool skeletons if you like them
Stuhrling makes cheap pieces of junk from China, but has a lot of budget skeletons with some unique designs. Based on the watch you linked, you may like a lot of their designs.
If you dont care about movement quality, watch quality, and reliability...knock yourself out with one. Be aware that it will likely break in a few years and it will have zero resale value. High end watches can sell for more than you bought them for decades later if you get the right brands/movements/etc
If you get an automatic and want something of quality for under $500, get a Miyota movement at the very least, and and ETA movement if you can afford it.

I have always like the Hamilton Jazzmaster... very unique partial skeleton structure! And I will probably get that Swatch one day soon so I can say I have a Swiss automatic
Agreed about Stuhrlings... some of them look great, though! Some of their top end models come with a Swiss movement, though. Those are in the $1K+ range. But still, I would never get a Stuhrling or suggest it to anybody. And there are several other US and Asian brands that use Chinese movements, including tourbillons in their top models. This is a great read and I think you will love this article seeing as how you are knowledgeable about the industry and brands:
Thunder out of China: Chinese movements no longer just on the horizon http://www.europastar.com/magazine/features/1004030938-thunder-out-of-china-chinese-movements-no-longer.html
It ends up mentioning several brands -- all European-sounding -- that use Chinese movements.
^^ LOL, but in this case it makes a 17-fold difference in value

^ Thanks for the article. I'll have a read through it.
Regarding tourbillons: I'd love to have one just to say I have one, but they should not be on watches below $100k from elite in-house manufacturers. Otherwise, to me at least, having one on a cheap watch (or even better, a fake one!) is like putting a flowmaster on a Honda civic...you ain't fooling anyone!
The only thing more scary then a chinese movement is a chinese tourbillion
I have exactly one swiss automatic...a white faced Tissot Le Locle. I bought it when I first got into watches, and now I regret it because its so dressy I can't wear it anywhere but work. I dont have an extensive collection of watches, but I do like learning about them and can appreciate them
I want a Speedmaster Moonwatch but I'm too poor/cheap. I'd take a planet ocean, too

Was gifted a TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph over the holidays by my boss. A really nice gesture. Haven't worn it much and probably wont except for on certain occasions. ie; when I see him, which is once or twice a month. Thinking the next watch I buy for myself will be a Tudor Black Bay. Been wanting one for a while now. Nice watch and not too flashy/sporty.
