mine is on a friday this year, so I think getting people to do something fun shouldn't be too hard (it really is just a good excuse to twist arms and get people to all come out and do something fun)

Hmm, we might be able to do that actually. We were thinking about 9/18 but I don't think that is going to work out with the surgery so this might work better.

i'm gonna make a birthday list starting after this year

friends of mine that i have made it a POINT to attend their birthdays even when i had other plans that don't show up to mine, will be on said list

then i will not attend their birthday the next year

^^^yeah, I liked the idea of the beer olympics yall had for that weekend, but that would be alot of setting up to do at this point

I still have a plate party I need to do too... maybe we could do the party on saturday and do the plate party saturday for lunch and then keg with games- hmmmm

^I try to make it out to yours, but it is never usually on your actual bday though (for reasons obvious to you and those who know you)

like I said- it is just a good excuse to get everyone together without having to work with every single person to make it works. Just say "hey, it's my bday- lets grill out/go to this bar/go to this concert"

The only reason 25 was a big deal is because I had to travel a lot for work at the time and it was a lot easier renting a car and my company wouldn't do it for those under 25 so I had to taxi a lot (blah).

My upcoming birthday is just a random year. I will certainly celebrate 30 when that eventually comes.

that is true. using the "its my birthday" is a good way to get a group of people together w/ little coordination effort

unless it is a holiday weekend like mine. i'm all "its my birthday lets grill out" and people are like "its america's birthday i'm at the BEACH" and i'm like "FUUUUUU america. i like hot dogs and hamburgers too"

this year i went to a bull's game with my fam. last year for 25 i did absolutely nothing. but my dad got me a plane ticket to nyc so that was exciting. when my 30th rolls around i'll hopefully still look 5-8 years younger than i really am so i'll pretend it is my 25th again

yeah, I forgot the VT game was on the second... I might want to do something lowkey (maybe saucer plate party?) on friday, and then get a parking permit for the game and just got tailgate like it was my job that saturday

Just read through the news articles on a guy I went to school with- he was always a hot head, and he came from a loooot of $$$ allowing him to get away with more than most, so this story doesn't really surprise me, but fuck- he shot a guy 5 times (a couple to the head) in front of the victim's son over a video poker machine that he wasn't even playing


I'm glad I decided to stop associating with that guy after high school
