can someone explain the patent war between Android and iOS? Why did Jobs say in his biography and on multiple occasions that Google stole their technology? Was he just referring to these design elements/decisions they are suing over? Or are these lawsuits just their way of being bitchy about something else they stole in the past that I don't know about?

It's just apple's way of saying they're afraid of competition. Instead of innovating they're too busy with lawsuits. And they're going after the phone manufacturers when the functionality is part of Android in general. Google should start suing apple when they release a new iOS update as it's pretty much just copy and paste.

Apple sues the manufacturers instead of Google, but it's Apple/(was mostly Jobs' ego) not wanting competition because eventually people will catch on to the deficiencies of the Apple ecosystem, especially at their inflated price point (which is one of the reasons that Android has the largest chunk of the smartphone market share)

If Google wanted to be as petty as Apple, they'd use the patents that they bought from the Motorola merger to get a ban on sale of iPhones... everywhere.

Some of the patent suits that Apple has done recently to HTC and Samsung are straight up ridiculous. IIRC one was over hyperlinks in text messages on HTC phones. Apple was calling for a ban on the import of HTC android phones because of a feature they claimed to have a patent on, that my first phone was capable of ~1-2 years before the first iPhone came out.

hmm...read somewhere that they were having a limited roll around the middle of last week and would then start the mass rollout sometime this week. Still have another 2 weeks before I get ICS goodies. Damn you Verizon and Samsung.

The only problem with no SD card is the odds of you losing data go through the roof.

I have seen smashed, even dripping wet phones, and you can retrieve media from the SD card as soon as it is dry.

So what is the genre of games where you are trying to get your car/bunny/whatever as far to the right or as high as you can. You usually have mechanisms of increasing or decreasing the distance traveled, and you can try to hit them or avoid them. Then when you stop moving, you get a new turn and see if you can beat your last/best try?

I'd like to download some for Android but don't know what category they're in...

In case it happens to anyone else...

I got the automatic update notice yesterday evening, tried to update, said "not enough space on device" which was total bullshit since I had 6gb left on the device and 14gb left on the sd card but I moved everything over to SD and wiped internals. didn't fix it. so i did a wipe and reset. when I went to update through the settings it said "you're all updated!" which was wrong but I thought I'd give it some time. woke up this morning and the update was waiting to download and worked fine. just fyi.
