But doesn't it take a good while after potential exposure for HIV tests to be accurate? That is what TV dramas have taught me at least. Like you can't just have promiscuous sex then go out and get tested the next day and know that's correct. Doesn't it take a few months for it to register on a blood test?

Yes. It takes ~7 months to be confident with your negative HIV test.

yea that is what i thought, too. but can't they go and get the anti-hiv therapy drugs in the meantime? if they're really super scared? that is what i meant more. i thought you could go get anti-hiv therapy drugs if you suspected exposure.

either way, i'd call or go see a doctor and be like: this is what happened, now what. instead of sitting there. being proactive can be scary too (cause you might find out something you don't want to find out) but i mean, its better than sitting, i think anyway.

My grandmother died last week and her funeral is all the way in Michigan. I'm busy at work and don't want to burn vacation days so early in the year. I feel like kind of a dick for not going, but we were never that close anyway, so I’d think she’d understand.
