Brissett couldn't beat out Driskel for the job and Driskel sucks. Qb play will be better only bc it couldn't get any worse. 4/4/2014 8:12:02 PM |

yeah because a coaching staff has never misjudged two athletes competing for the same position and given the job to the wrong guy.

Driskell was the #1 QB recruit in the entire country. The UF staff almost had to play him over Brissett, considering they came in at the same time. 4/4/2014 10:48:17 PM |

Got a 2015 WR commitment today from Winston Salem WR Brian Sessoms.
According to Rivals his only offers were from us and Wake Forest...with interest from UNC. Also says his 40 has been timed at 4.25. 4/12/2014 11:55:24 AM |

He's not big, but he's got insane speed. He started out at RB for Carver but now focuses a lot on DB, which is what he'll probably play for us. Here's a quick profile on him from the WS Journal
Quote : | "Sessoms turned a few heads at the Ultimate 100 Combine in June, prompting one scout to write the following on the NUFC website:
"His change of direction and acceleration were very evident during individual position drills. But it was not till the 7-on-7 tournament that he really dominated the competition. This young man played on both sides of the ball and proved to be one of the toughest competitors in this camp…."" |

He's fast as fuck...I don't mind adding one of the fastest players in the state to the football team each year. I don't think Graham was a big time recruit...but he worked out well for us over his career and is now in the NFL. I'll take that. 4/16/2014 1:04:24 PM |

yeah, really the only players i would call "fast as fuck" in my memory of watching NC State football were Alvis Whitted and TJ Graham.
Neither one could really catch, but both became NFL players. Also, I won the Heisman with Alvis Whitted on NCAA Football 98 many, many times. Mainly because I only ran one play and he was the WR on that side of the field. Also, because that game was so wonky, I scheduled to play UNC every game for the season. Best season ever. 4/16/2014 2:28:13 PM |

^^Tobias Palmer was pretty damn fast. Maybe not TJ fast, but he could move.
Tramain Hall didn’t have elite top-end speed, but his acceleration was insane. He went from 0 to 100 faster than any player I remember at State. 4/16/2014 3:19:08 PM |

TJ took a bit of time to get going, as did Alvis. Holt is still the fastest player in pads I've seen in Carter-Finley. (or Devin Hester) Last year's bullshit non-td by Underwood vs Clemson may be the fastest one play I've seen at home.

^awesome! I hope he earns playing time at some point. I am a Pinecrest alum, and we don't get too many Pinecrest football recruits coming to NCSU, mostly because PHS rarely produces any. That said PHS went 11-2 last year, marking their best record in school history (lost to Wake Forest HS in second round of 4A playoffs). Maples was a huge factor all season, dominating on Defense and kicking game. If I remember correctly, he played offense some too. He was by far the star and best athlete on last year's PHS team. Good for him, and I look forward to seeing another PHS Patriot suit up in Wolfpack red. 4/20/2014 1:18:15 AM |

Brian Sessoms highlight video: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3314638/highlights/76901375
The camera work is horrible on some of the clips, but the guy's speed is legit. Just look at the 3rd clip for proof .... it looks like he's playing in fast forward. Carver High plays some good teams in the Triad too, so it's not like he's going against scrubs.

Love that Spurrier can tell this kid he's going to change his offense for him specifically and have the kid actually believe him, haha.
Just like Paul Johnson telling QBs the last couple of years he was going to switch from the triple-option, it's just not going to happen. 5/8/2014 9:37:04 AM |
