This guy raised every pot. He called my previous aces with 2-3 off suit. I figured he got a piece of it. I based this on the fact he bet like that when he thought poeple were playing high cards and he got a piece of it even small pair he raised like that. He did this every time. Which is why his stack flucuated between 20-140 dollars. In other hands he raised with that with nothing.


AND I also had the Ace of the suit.

You are either going to have to be prepared to sit there for a LONG time to drain this guys money, or you are going to need a bankroll big enough to absorb the percentages of time you are actually going to lose to this guy.

I obviously don't know the hand history leading up to that but if he has proven time and time again to call whatever and if 15.50 isn't enough to scare him off then you should just consider another table. He called your bet and as an extremely loose player you got no information out of that. When he all in'd when the spades hit don't you think it is pretty conceivable that he hit his flush? You gotta lay em down sometimes.

Well you need to re-evaluate your approach. The only thing that is better than getting half of your stack in preflop with bullets is getting your whole stack in preflop against a single opponent. That is a mathematical fact, live with the outcomes.

today on Party Poker 2/4 Holdem...

I'm dealt 4/7 suited in the small blind, and I call the big blind...

flop comes 3/5/8 (all off suit), I flop the straight with no possible flushes out. One guy bets, I raise, he reraises. Turn is a 4. I bet, he raises, I reraise, he maxes it out. River is a 7. Maxed out again. Guy flips Pocket Kings, but I had to split the pot because my straight was on the board after the river came. So gay.

I know the math just fine thanks. Your comment about preflop getting all your money in versus half doesn't really say much about the situation at hand does it? The flop knowledge killed your pre flop thinking. And I think it is evident the guy isn't a total dumb ass if he is swinging his stack from high to lows, he is just loose and there aren't enough strong players at the table to take him out quickly enough.

If we go back and talk about the hand hypothetically pre-flop then yes, on a long enough time frame you win with all your money in based on pre flop percentages for sure. But as far as the situation goes, when you play with lose cannons you can either live/die by the percentages (and btw, ~60/40 preflop isn't all that great) or you can sit there longer and wait til the percentage gets better for you and chip away at his stack an insulate yourself from taking big hits.

The only reason you don't raise that much preflop is because you don't want to run off the maniac. But since it appears he'd call any raise preflop, it's a good raise.

Yeah that is awesome. Reminds me of a hand I saw last year online. Player A raises preflop with KK. Player B reraises with AA, player A calls. The flop is KQQ. Player B bets, player A goes all-in with the K's over Q's. After thinking about it, player B calls. Turn is a Q, river is a Q, giving player B the nuts with QQQQ and an ace kicker.

My advice is to play no-limit.

But never ever play on Party Poker.

I am up like $400 in a little over a week playing on Pacific Poker, and that's probably only 5 hours playing time.... much more reasonable players there, and I have not seen the horrible beats that I have come to expect playing Party Poker.

It really really just depends.

I mean, obviously play pocket pairs and such. If they are big pocket pairs, you obviously wanna raise with them preflop, and by raise, I don't mean from $.50 to $1.00, I mean raise enough so that you hopefully only get 1 or 2 callers, like perhaps $4.00. Don't be stupid... if an overcard comes out, odds are you're probably beat.

But beyond the obvious pocket pair, AK hand, what else do I personally play? It all depends on position. In late position, I love to play suited connectors, or suited cards that are 1 or 2 away (69 for example). If there are lots of callers, hands like that are GREAT in late position. Even if there is a raise, let's say to $3.00 on a $.50, and 4 people call in front of me and I am last to act, you can be DAMN sure I will be calling with suited connectors. Hands like those are hands I probably wouldn't play "heads-up" but that I will sure as hell play with lots of callers, because if they hit, they WILL be profitable. If you're playing 86 of spades, and 579 flops, 99% of people online would not DREAM of folding JJ. So for $3, you win their $50, along with anyone else who stays in and decides to play with an overpair.

Another thing, I will play a hand that I wouldn't normally play like J4 for instance, if some douche raises to $1.00. This is simply because oftentimes, people get AA or KK and they think to themselves, I want lots and lots of callers. So if this is the case, and I have J4, and I believe they have AA, then I will call, just on the outside chance that I hit something. Because one thing I have learned is, that the douche who only raises $.50 with AA (or doesn't raise at all) will NOT fold AA, so if you hit, you WILL win.

well i got it to work finally, but i had the worst luck ive ever seen in my whole life.

i lost $50 in 3 hours, and another $50 yesterday on partypoker.

im serious when i say this, ill never play poker again for as long as i live, not just online, but in person too.

i have a really nice 650 set of chips with aluminum case if anyone wants to buy them from me, it's about a $80 set, ive only had it for a short time, i'll sell it for $50.

so I'm playing a $20 table on bodog.com a minute ago.......

won pocket aces over pocket queens early and was chip leader
had a bad beat and lost half the stack
had a stupid beat on my part and lost almost all the rest, was down to 100
folded shitty hands, and went all-in on good ones, and succesfully won NINE all-in hands!!!

Ended up being chip leader, and would have won except I lost A Q unsuited to A J suited where the guy made his flush on the river. Still though, turned a lost cause into $60, I still can't believe it.

As Carl would say, that's friggin' AWESOME!!!
