so when she's facing the camera and moving the crate to the floor, the back of the crate is also facing the camera

i thought there was some marking on it and since we only saw it for a split second maybe it was a clue or something

but if there's nothing legible then it must not be important

found out what happened to Kate when she went down
found out what happened to Locke when he went down
found out wtf was with the shoes
found out what Desmond was typing into the computer and what it does (dont know why it does it)
found out what happened to the people on the raft and how they got back

anyway the thing i was thinkin was that desmond couldnt have been in that hatch for more than 5 years but all the equipment in the hatch seems top be at least 20 maybe 30 years old (locke even points that out) so he had to replace someone (or ones) at this "lookout" post

my thinkin are the sharks are a protection measure of some sorts (protection in the sense of keeping anyone on the island from gettin off). its not too hard to fathom that they have some sort of device to keep them within range of the island (i.e. same type of invisible fence that keeps dogs in). i agree with someone who said the polar bears could also have the brand under their fur. pure speculation but i think ive heard polar bears are the fiercest land animal, anyone else know anything? ill prolly google this later.

i got the impression there was more than one right after they found them right before commercial break

the raft gets knocked and it seemed like the object was moving away from the camera, but then the shot is farher away and you see a shark silohette(sp?) swimming towards the camera

i mean it could have turned quick, i could be wrong about the first assumption, but the feeling i got was more than one

at the very least i would bank on if there wasnt more than one shark in that episode i still bet there are more out there, i mean it was "made" (and i dont mean that in a robot sense, more like it obviously took effort to mark it) so why wouldnt they "make" more if you catch that

i just dont buy the robot thing because it seems everything they show at least has a point behind and why would they show blood if they wanted us to think its a robot

this is true but all of the technical equipment seemed old, i mean the count down wasnt even digital, it was a flip thing from like the 50's

so that would imply that this base is very old (i.e. at least WW II like was mentioned), but also it has been upgraded recently
