the quality of the armor depends on your level...no way around it other than cheating 7/25/2006 3:34:37 PM |

It doesn't matter. The way that game works is that there are 987204398573465lsdkfjg439857 quests and you can't complete them all with one character... at least not without wasting your life on it. Missed opportunities aren't really that big a deal in this game. 7/28/2006 6:23:53 PM |

So if Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls game, would you guys recommend I go back and play Morrowind? I've still got a while to go before I completely finish this one, and hopefully by the time I'm done Microsoft will have Morrowind added to their backwards compatible list for the 360 8/31/2006 4:49:39 AM |

you'll probably get frustrated with it. it was a good game but you never had a clue where you were supposed to go and there was no fast travel.
oblivion, on the other hand, was a tad towards the "too easy" side of the spectrum. i prefered that, however, to wandering around for 30 minutes looking for a cave after walking 30 minutes to get there.
[Edited on August 31, 2006 at 9:38 AM. Reason : it was still fun, i just didnt want to play again after 1 time personally] 8/31/2006 9:37:59 AM |

^^ cyrion is probably right...i enjoyed morrowind, but it was quirky in a difficult-for-no-reason way...that said, i will probably go back and play it again, just because it was so much fun 8/31/2006 12:22:48 PM |

There were really only about two things that Morrowind had going for it over Oblivion:
1) In Morrowind you had more possibilities for equipment/items.
2) In Oblivion each faction is very close to being mutually exclusive - you can rise through the ranks in each guild and not change the overall story arc. Morrowind was different. Once you chose a path several story arcs would cease to exist. In that respect Morrowind had a better replay value - you'd have to go back and play again to explore certain story arcs - whereas in Oblivion you could experience nearly all the story arcs/quests on your first pass through.
I second the frustration you'll be facing if you are already accustomed to Oblivion with regards to quest location and fast travel.

I am unsure of what you mean by "fast travel", but there are always methods of traveling really fast. Get the boots of blinding speed to run like a demon or just enchant an item with something stupid like 1000 levitate (not sure how high you could go) and you could literally fly to any place really fast.
I sometimes wish I did more in Morrowind. I never got either expansion. Might be for the best. I dont know what I would have done in the werewolf scenarios.8/31/2006 3:52:33 PM |

well whats quicker, having to magically boost your stats to walk with any degree of quickness or being able to port where you wanna go?
i didnt use a guide or anything so unless i happen to run across said items i was pretty screwed as far as walking as a heavy orc warrior. 8/31/2006 4:11:25 PM |
