With all that wrong w/ us, let's look at what was wrong with Wake:

1) THEY'RE THE 2005-2006 WAKE FOREST TEAM. THE WORST.

I just got back home from going to the game. I must say, that is one of the worst coached games I've seen in a long time. Whenever you get down by 10 points in a ball game, you should come out and try pressing the full court or at least 3/4 of the court. Never did we do this until LATE LATE LATE in the ball game. Also, how hard is it to encourage getting rebounds? State got outrebounded by 40-24. That f*cking sucks!!! Also, where is the intensity level? We have been so lackadaisical in the past 4 games, it's pathetic!

I will have to say this though, I had pretty good seats at the game, and the damn refs didnt call shit against Eric Williams in the first half. He should have had atleast 3 fouls by halftime. He was all over the back of Simmons and everyone else from State that tried to get a rebound. And, in the second half, Simmons picked up those 2 cheapass fouls early. There is no way Simmons should have gotten called for those foul calls if Williams didn't get called for his over aggressiveness in the first half.

Overall, I am very pissed at the way we played. We probably couldn't beat Peace College right now!

da thrill...can i one up you and suggest a press to start the game and possibly build a lead. im so tired of hearing coach say, "well i really don't think we have the type of athlete's that can successfully press." we started making a bit of a run when we did press, granted wake was in kill the clock mode. no im not saying we press for the entire 40 minutes, just in spurts to see if we can build a lead instead of trying to come back. Bennerman, Bethel, and Grant all seem athletic enough to sustain a press.

I was gonna let this slide, but I feel the need to defend myself since the criticism involved me being female:

SouthPaW12, I think you misunderstood my "sick dogs" comment. If you play for three minutes, and you already have a continuous stream of sweat dripping off your chin, that is not "standard" sweating. That is the sweating of a very sick man. By no means was I saying, "Oh, well, they were sweating, so whatever..."

And I don't know...to score 20 in the first half and 51 in the next? A lot of people would look at that and think that State really didn't come out to play. It is interesting that 20-51 is a stat that could be used to support Sendek as a great half-time strategist.

I've been thinking about the game a lot lately, and I'm wondering how fans would have reacted if Sendek had said, "Evty's hurt. So is Cam. Ced is sick. They will not be playing this game." I'm wondering how things would have turned out if he'd just benched them and told everyone to suck it.

And, oh yeah, Herb's about to blow. This season he's starting to get a little testy with the obnoxious accusations that get masked as questions. I mean, he was asked how he felt about accusations that his team didn't play with enough urgency, and his answer was something to the effect of "That's ridiculous. They're giving it their all."

Pretty soon he's gonna come out and admit that he doesn't give a fuck what the fans think. And, of course, it will get him fired.
