well, as much as i hate vick, i agree with Rally that the WC experiment has been a stubborn failure with him. it raised everyone's eyebrows when Mora said he was going to run it with Vick, but he's not as dangerous anymore....is he?

like it's already been said, at least when they're running wideouts deep, the offensive scheme forces the safeties back, and there should be more room on the perimeter for him to roll out and run.

its probably a failure since they based it off SF's offense since Vick could run (a la Steve Young) except they forgot that Vick couldnt pass and should have gotten converted to a different position in the NFL in the first place like Ronald Curry

I'm not saying Vick deserves credit for every win and none of the blame for any loss.


But the fact of the matter is that Vick played pretty good football this season.


You dont just proclaim that a QB sucks just because his team sucks.


If a guy plays pretty well and the team doesnt win, perhaps its not his fault.

Vick is(supposedly) a Quarterback who completes a little more than 50% of his passes.

Since stats are the only measure of a persons performance, i dont want to hear anything about "drops" or the context of these statistics. That is an unacceptable way to measure a QB's value according to pages 1-17 of this thread.

Context is important. Raw statistics can assist you, but when you rely on them so heavily you make poor assessments.

statistics are most valid for large sample sizes, that is why people generally uses statistics for a season or career as a basis for comparison/conclusion instead of statistics from 1 game.

which is why using statistics for vick's career shows he's not a golden god quarterback, despite the statistics you show after the occasional good game by vick

The problem with Vick is that he hasn't shown that he can be consistent. He was a tremendous college player but the level of competition is really high now. He has shown that he can compete but he's just not someone you can trust with the game on the line.

The best thing that the Falcons can do is trade him while his stock is still high and try to build around Shaub.
