Stewart is the man. He says what he feels like saying and he's not some sorry pantywaste who sponsors only hire because they look good and fit their mold.

GG Robby.

The only question I have is whether there was a yellow in the corner station previous to where Robby made the pass for the lead. If yes, he should've gone back to second. If not, he should've stayed in the lead. On top of that, if Ambrose punted him under yellow, it should've been a black flag.

Either way, great finish, and nice job by Harvick and Carpentier of going hard without wrecking each other, especially since Harvick looked like he had forgotten to drive for the entire first green lap.

nascar screwed the pooch on that finish, no way they followed their own rules. it is possible that robby was spun out before the full course yellow came out which would put him in 17th. but i dont think they should have went green with him in 2nd.

If they hadn't of went green with Gordon in second, the would have just ran around under caution until everyone ran out of gas...because Robby Gordon wasnt going to pull over, and everyone knew that.

Most fun Ive had watching a NASCAR race in a long time. Loved RG doing the burnout like he won the race at the end...I'm sure he would have drove into victory lane if the officials hadn't surrounded his car.

It's not possible, they were the first two cars through the chicane where the spin happened (so no chance of a local yellow) and the corner station after the chicane was showing a waving yellow. The issue is whether or not the previous corner station was displaying yellow at the time the pass was made.

Ambrose punted Gordon deliberately under yellow, he deserved a black flag or a punt, and that's what he got.

Fuck RG, he shoulda tried to win the race for real, not just by knocking him out. Ambrose did tap him, but it was to be expected after he had just spun him out, possibly under caution then as well. So they both hit each other under the yellow, so both should have been black flagged or not.

However that shit aside, the race with Harvick was fucking great, and reminds why I love NASCAR....as long as its on a damn road course.

my understanding is that only full course yellows affect scoring and not local yellows. if you spin under green then the yellow comes out immediately you get scored where you get back in line.

This race defines why the road courses have grown so much on me. I liked this track as well. If only they'd get rid of this Pocono race, and race there (opinion may change if Jr. wins, but I hate Pocono).

Right now I'd take the 20 and the 24 over the rest of the field. : \

Although, momentum notwithstanding, Denny Hamlin may be the fave going in. If he's a b-lister, take it!

Denny and Kyle qualified 6th and 3rd respectively but I've used each of them 7 of my allotted 9 times already, thats my only dilemma!

D00d, y00 scr00ed the p00ch if that's the case... I think Hamlin's avg finish at Pocono is like 2.2... He swept last year if I'm not mistaken. If he could win anywhere it's there.

Denny Hamlin is to Pocono as Jimmie Johnson is to Charlotte

That's my point. The full course yellow was definitely out at the time Ambrose spun Gordon, because the flag for the full course yellow is being displayed in the corner station after the chicane before the spin happens. The question is whether or not the corner station before the chicane had the full course yellow out when Gordon and Ambrose passed, because that's what determines whether or not Gordon's pass was made under yellow.

I've said it before, but I hope that Tony Eury Jr. is not Dale Jr's crew chief next year. He seems to make the car worse with his last minute adjustments (i.e. the shock change yesterday). The team's best stretch this season was while he was suspended.

haha, hero to hobo.

^ Yes, Hendrick is far far too smart to hire Eury Jr. to be Earnhardt Jr.'s crew chief.

nascars statement about robbie gordon:

"Once the caution came out on Lap 72 the field was frozen. Once the field is frozen, all cars must maintain cautious pace in order to be scored"

Jr gave Eury Sr. a job at JRM.

Nascar is talking out their ass. If gordon had spun ON HIS OWN then yeah, he'd have to fall back in line.

Well, it's almost the "Herb situation." We couldn't quite crack into the next level with him. There would be an occasional flash of brilliance, but also many critical setbacks. Execution and clutch decisions were a weakness. I think certain moves this season made by Eury have hurt this team at times. Look at today for example. When the team went back to the original shock package from the 1st half of the weekend, look at what happened. I don't think Eury is a bad crew chief, but I don't think he can help Jr. win a championship. That being said, the team did a good job getting the shock changed, and getting him track position toward the end of the race.

And yes, I enjoyed that NAPA commercial.

So Kyle Busch is driving for Gibbs in the 18 car next season. Busch and Tony on the same team will be fun to watch. It could be interesting as well if JGR goes to Toyota.

I hope they have an anger management specialist on scene all the time!!

I like Kyle, I will like him no matter where he goes - UNTIL a little bit of Tony rubs off on him. When he starts throwing temper tantrums like the 5 year old Tony Stewart is... he's off my list!

As for Junior... I won't be pulling for him for a while... I'll have to see how he takes to the Hendrick guys.
