Today a coworker stood on my chair.

There was a step ladder in the room that she could have used, but nope... she had to make sure she stood on an unsafe office chair... my chair

I failed to retrieve pics . I might as well resign now.

Been a bad day for workplace annoyances here.

This morning I got a typical email that my co-worker and I were copied on, not a minute after the email hits our inbox he says out loud, "Hey did you get that email?"

Already I am annoyed! Yes, sure is a neat thing that CC: field.

Anyway there was something in there that my dad needs to know about, so don't be a jumpstarter and contact that person with an answer! And sure as hell don't, CC me the reply and ask If got it too!

Agghh.

people making jokes about how their hardware doesn't need viagra to run.

people asking for my home number for private troubleshooting.

being ignored when i'm trying to help, and then being chatted up when I fix their fucking problem

15 minutes (i timed it) to restart a computer and open a file.

Because said computer likes to randomly become blind to the shared drive the files I need (for that particular computer), and refuse to recognize them until it's rebooted.

People who feel the need to say goodbye for the day in a whisper, after they've passed you, and then reach the door, turn around, and get offended because you didn't say anything to them.

It's because I couldn't hear you, asshole.

WHEN PEOPLE REPLY TO FUCKING EMAILS WITHOUT READING THE OTHER EMAILS IN THEIR INBOX

IF I SENT YOU TWO EMAILS BACK TO BACK, I PROBABLY FORGOT SOMETHING IN THE FIRST ONE AND IMMEDIATELY SENT YOU A SECOND ONE

PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING ME TO BITCH ABOUT ME NOT DOING X WHEN X IS IN THE OTHER FUCKING EMAIL YOU HAVEN'T OPENED

k that happens entirely too often and is driving me fucking crazy

haha probably that too

but like this afternoon the ceo/owner sent out an email scheduling a meeting at x time early in the morning on friday

he doesnt use Outlook, everybody else does

so i sent out an Outlook appointment thing to everybody invited to the meeting so they could just click accept and it'd add it, just trying to be helpful (and I'm actually in charge of the meeting so it was right for me to do what I did)

not 5 minutes later my boss calls (obviously not the ceo..the guy directly under him) me asking why i scheduled a meeting at a time he couldn't be there, then he told me i didnt have the authorization to plan meetings for the whole company and to never do it again because i didnt know his schedule and now it was going to be a pain to reschedule and baby sitter for his kids, blah blah

obviously i didnt schedule the damn thing, i was just trying to make putting it into everyone's calendars a little easier and take a little iniative

gah

Initiative will get you nowhere, haha.

I just had a client sell a product of mine for June delivery after I specifically told him it would not be ready until late July at least three times. Basically, he sold a service that does not exist and is pissed because it won't be ready. He said he sold to his customer to "light a fire" so that production would speed up. I have had this release scheduled for late July for 18 months.

well, i sit right next to a conference room and i think it's pretty rude for all these guys to gather 'round the conference call phone when it's on full volume and yell at it with both doors wide open.

plus, i'm pmsing

when you have meetings stacked 3 deep on your outlook calendar (i.e. they all overlap)

also

every wednesday is supposed to be a "meeting free morning" - my big boss sent us all an outlook appointment that takes up the time from 8am - 12pm... yet i have 4 meetings scheduled... ugh

outlook does allow you to share calendars so if you are scheduling meetings you can actually see what your coworkers week looks like (as long as they know how to use outlook correctly)

luckily people don't use the conference room on this side of the building very often..

the other day they blocked youtube and websense doesn't give a reason, it just says "blocked" a lot of us used it to set up playlists so we could listen to music.. but i guess someone thought we were spending too many hours on the internet, so they took away one of the last things that bring us joy

we're also on the head boss's shit list because a group of us got caught playing sudoku.. it's not fair that since we don't smoke we don't get a little break every now and then my immediate supervisor told us that we should take our sudoku and go sit downstairs in the smoking section haha

at 930, my supervisor comes over asking me what i'm doing

"i'm working on this thing i have to get to our manager by 10 or so."

"Cool. How's it going?"

"It's going well."

"Any issues with it?"

"No, just have to get it done."

"You think you'll be able to finish it by 10?"

"NOT IF YOU ASK ME A HUNDRED GODDAMNED QUESTIONS ABOUT IT NOW LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE."

(whimpers fading into the distance)

i actually work in financial management. the manager/specialist/analyst is the typical set up. the manager answers to the client executive.

i guess that could be another irritant, but it doesn't matter, i quit my job to play music full time which means i'll be signing my own paychecks, except that they'll be a shit ton smaller.

if you ever do one thing for a person to fix their computer, you will become their bitch for that computer forever-- so never do this ever

I mean I try to be nice, but I really don't want to fix your shit for nothing, especially if I am not sure exactly how to. I'm 'that guy' at work who should be able to fix your problem with X because I know something about Y.

I'm right outside a conference room too (the biggest in the building actually) and people constantly have after-meeting conversations right outside my cube. Or they will sneak out of their meeting and talk to people on their cell phone. Usually I just stare at them until they get the message and go somewhere else.

there's a belcher in our lunch group

everytime he speaks he has to belch

and he has to speak a lot

b/c he knows everything about everything

and im amazed at some of the people i work with, and how far they've progressed without realizing how gross/irritating/rude smacking your lips when you eat is
