So much heartbreak and madness along the way
It all started with my retarded calls and bets the first hour after I woke up
Then I go on an easily preventable tilt
I can't just lose a big hand. I have to lose 100 over and over again because I can't think straight

im with you
if you notice in that graph i posted
i blew off 5 buyins (in nl) to one specific person in a 40 hand stretch.
none of which i was less than 70% to win when it went in, and the dude was ~80 vp$ip and 65% pfr over 200 hands.
i wanted to just give up.

you can't just quit though
it's not possible
we poker players get in this mindset that you have to win it all back
and end up losing more along the way because of fucked up decisions and risks thats we would never take if we weren't in this mindset
it's funny how a pair of aces can turn the whole day around though
me having aces + the other guy having kings = i have all his money
I played it so great too
He raises, i reraise 2.5X times his raise, he reraises me 2X that and i just call to appear weak knowing he has kings at that point
i check on the flop that has no king on it. He bets half my stack and I reraise him all in now that he is totally pot committed 4/15/2007 10:35:53 PM |

pretty cool thing for all poker players / nerdhax0rs out there. i get to meet up with the crashteam. basically a group of dudes that a certain chain hired instead of sending to jail. they keep average Joes's money safe (ha!) by "having a go" at any software driven stuff. there's also a short little "seminar" they give on other things that are usually more on the design side -- like the credit trippers and the crazy magnet shit.
so they're supposedly the best of the best in their field, and we're all anxious to see how long it takes them to bust our balls 4/16/2007 7:01:14 AM |

home game last night, i pick up pocket queens (heart/spade) UTG, and i raise.
only a guy in middle position calls.
flop comes Jh, Th, 8h.
i raise, guy goes all in over the top for 12 times my raise.
i called and won, but should i have? someone at the table, who wasn't in the hand, thought i made a horrible call. 4/16/2007 10:04:55 AM |

i think you made the right call simply because he raised 12X what you raised
at that point you know he's full of shit
I could see a large raise with like 2 pair cuz he's trying to protect his hand but definitely not 12X your raise 4/16/2007 10:13:56 AM |

a riase like that screams eith Ah or 9h
sometimes i'll do it with the nuts, expecting no one to believe that i'd play the nuts like a big draw.
it's a play on respect usually..
someone knows im capable of doing that on a big draw or trying to proctect a marginal hand, and would expect me to "play better" than that with the joint by just smooth calling
im a donk though
but calling with QQ there would be pretty dependant on the raiser's tendancies, moreso that bet size 4/16/2007 10:51:27 AM |

I figured out how to make a graph with PT, but it kinda sucks. These are the ~7k 1/2 6max hands I've played in april:
I'm usually a little more all over the place than that, it really helps your consistency if you can avoid tilt. And it's easy to avoid tilt when you run gooot, kind of a catch-22.

^ how did you get your x-axis to be the date... i can only see the options "Hand order", "Running BB won" and "Running Net Won" for the categories. 4/16/2007 5:48:02 PM |
NoidRoid All American 7642 Posts user info edit post |
I graphed the session summary at the top of the session notes tab, not the general info tab.
Then I right-clicked for graphing options to decrease the sessions it shows and make it BB/s won instead of $$$.
Would have preferred to just have my hands played on the x-axis but I couldn't figure it out. 4/16/2007 6:16:29 PM |
moe All American 683 Posts user info edit post |
oo ok... do the graph on the game notes tab. that will give you the hands on the x-axis 4/16/2007 7:13:23 PM |

or you could just use poker grapher
it has a ton of functionality
queries the db created by pt for hand by hand alanysis
you have to have the .NET framework installed, but itll walk you through that if you dont.

BTW is there something similar to Pokertracker that is freeware? I've already exhausted the 1000 hand limit for the trial. I'm to cheap to by it, well for now...definitley helpful software for rings (maybe tournies too, didn't use it there..but sure it is).

Don't really need comments on this (I know the raise was weak considering position...but I was looking to encourage a play like this from an apparently loose player)...haha just felt like posting and showing the good AA domination. This would of put me in top 10....trying to make 3 final tables in a week....guess I won't now. **Maybe I will...still sittin pretty afterall.**

just won a $150 in a hand
I get KK in the position right before the button
everyone folds preflop and then when it comes to me I bet $5 (pussy raise for a 1/2 game but i wanted to get one of the blinds to call)
I get one caller (big blind)
Flop comes K-7-2? with all the cards being hearts
Dude in big blind goes all in for $150
So I call immediately even though I didn't know what type of player he was because it was my 2nd hand at the table. Not many people go all in for 30X my original my original bet with monster hands like a nut flush.
he had Q-5 of clubs and 0% chance of winning
what an idiot
