This is actually probably true to a large extent. Most of the time going into oral arguments at a hearing like this the judge has already determined what they are going to do overall. The judge gets all the materials and briefs well before the actual hearing date.

Mcadoo's lawyer put on a vastly superior show compared to the NCAA's stooge, but oral arguments don't always sway judges.

McAdoo's lawyer made really elementary (silly) arguments.

1. NCAA should have abided by UNC Honor Court
2. Holding McAdoo out hurts his future

NCAA responds:

1. Courts don't get involved in private orgs
2. McAdoo has no recourse to sue the NCAA, UNC needs to man up for him
3. NCAA is bound by member school honor court? answer (of course not) (i could hear the judge laughing from here)

it's awesome that everything that was brought to court as evidence can be used easily by the NCAA in the October hearing, particularly regarding Wiley. If McAdoo's lawyers are crying foul on UNC, then i'm sure the NCAA will use everything said under oath and in the court hearing as more damning evidence against UNC.

I think McAdoo does have a legit beef with UNC. Theres a definate conflict of itnerest in whats best for him and whats best for UNC and the essentially threw him to the wolves when he as a student and an athlete has an at least somewhat of expectation that the University will do a little bit to look out for him

i watched most of the trial, didn't watch a lot of the end of the UNC girl lawyer...

UNC did go to bat for him, they went in front of the NCAA and lied for him. The whole key is that McAdoo circumvented even his own assigned tutor and went to Wiley on his own. He knew damn well what he was doing and you know he's not the only one.
