And seriously, if you think NCSU is a shitty school, why are you a fan? Why do you follow the sports teams? Why are you posting on the wolfweb? You suck and apparently enjoy wallowing in misery.

At least in earlier losses we were playing with heart and intensity. Now there is no effort. I don't see how anyone can defend Lowe for last night when his team obviously didn't give a shit." |
I simply pointed out FACTS from the game and instead of a coherent response you gave "omg you don't know basketball". I will itemize facts from last nights game for you to see if you actually have any form of a response: 1. Our best player was sick (throwing up before the game and during halftime). 2. Our other low post threat was injured in warmup and couldn't play more than a couple minutes. 3. Our guards could not hit an outside shot to save their lives. Given these facts are you surprised that we lost?
FYI The only complaint I have about Lowe's gameplan last night is that he had everyone focused on stopping Delaney that they shit the bed early on guarding ANYONE else. Also even with VT's ridiculously fast start they didn't score any more points than they usually do.2/11/2010 7:05:20 PM |

There fixed it for you. Stop making excuses. Smith was throwing up yes. Howell was hurt, we have other bigs (Painter actually looked like he knew what was going on), shit happens. His sickness had nothing to do with our guards playing like JV players.2/11/2010 8:04:00 PM |

I didn't make excuses I stated facts about the game last night. It just so happens that theses facts justify what happened last night and you can't handle reality because you live in some fantasy land where we are a coaching change away from being a fantastic team. We have very little talent at guard and until we do it is difficult to judge how good or bad Lowe is. It is interesting that when our guards play decently (aka hit open shots and don't turn the ball over like it is their job) our offense looks great. I would be very concerned if we were missing shots because we weren't getting open shots but that simply isn't the case. 2/11/2010 8:47:48 PM |

this was true until last night. last night was the first game where we could NOT get open shots. and that's coaching. and the biggest thing that worries me about sid, is our regression over the course of the season. that's on sid.
with that said, i still think we'll be an ncaa team with our incoming guards next year. but my doubts are definitely rising.2/11/2010 9:56:35 PM |

Agreed Atsur wasn't overly talented but he had a hell of a basketball sense. He was smart and didn't turn the ball over all the time. This is something we need. A PG that can be smart and not turn the ball over while at the same time not get confused (aka look like he is about to take a dump on the court (Mays)) 2/12/2010 9:18:20 AM |

This isn't next year and we aren't sucking with high caliber talent at guard so until that happens...
No shit this school used to make the tournament with some non-traditional talent running a non-traditional system. That was deemed unacceptable by the fanbase. They wanted a fast paced more traditional system which cannot happen without talent at the guard position. In the college game having a good guard is much more important than who coaches the team. (fyi Hodge did a lot of primary ball handling and led the team in assists for quite a few years I don't think anyone would call him a mediocre college player)
Again no factual response boozie? I wish I could say I was surprised. Your ineffectual commentary really highlights the weakness of your arguments. I've called you out repeatedly on this and you still can't come up with anything?

Can we please stop this.
Our recruiting under Herb was every bit as good and probably better than it has been under Lowe.
Hodge's class was a consensus Top 5 (albeit in a weaker class). The 2004 and 2005 classes were both consensus Top 15. The only weak class was the MOD one and we simply didn't have any scholarships available that year.
It wasn't a talent problem. It was a how to utilize that talent properly "problem." And I use problem in quotations because we were competing for ACC Championships and generally one of the Top 4 teams in the conference at the time.

i'd say our recruiting is just starting to get back to the level we had in the early to mid 2000s. the glaringly obvious thing is that we never had an elite point guard 2/12/2010 9:53:05 AM |

It was deemed unacceptable by part of the fanbase. A number of us had the common sense to realize that we ran the system for a reason. Personally I think sitting at the bottom of the ACC with our only hope being a couple of freshmen who may or may not pan out is far more unacceptable.
Quote : | "the glaringly obvious thing is that we never had an elite point guard" |
Ironically, we were about to get one, then half the fanbase all but ran Herb out of town.
