lol I just stumbled upon that myself and came here to post "man, I really don't wanna go all the way to brooklyn " Those outlier courses are actually quite a hike from our place- it takes 45 minutes to get to Ramsey in zero traffic, which is a rarity around here.

edit: although, if I end up in school in new brunswick, there are several over there (shocker, courses near a big university??) that I could try out.

i'm gonna make an hour and half drive to try out a new course on monday... once you get into it, it really doesn't seem that bad (I'm hoping to play hickory's course this weekend, but I don't know if it will happen, but that's ok cause I've already played it once)

yea I tend to shy away from driving far up here- people are idiots on the road and the more walking/subway involved the better I feel. If I can get B into playing, it might happen a few times before it really gets freezing. Especially since we haven't found any golf around here we like yet. Convincing him to use a dg disc over a frisbee will be a little hard

I see plenty of ultimate players that come out and play with their ultimate discs (for drives) and putt with a putter... I think it's kind of lame, but no one is gonna say anything, and it gives them practice for what they are really into. I also like being able to shape a shot based on disc selection/shot style, and you can't really do that with an ultimate disc. But if it gets him out there, then by golly, nothing wrong with it in my mind
