^ ummm exercise, clean so that i have no other distractions, listen to music, take a nap (that is probably horrible advice but sometimes when i take a nap it helps when i'm feeling worn down and unmotivated, then i wake up feeling refreshed)

but i think exercise/clean/music are usually my go to things.

you could say it now. you could just be like "i heard about americorps through my friends ____ and _____ and am responding to the ad that i saw on craigslist. please see my attached cover letter and resume"

you could mention them again in your cover letter if you want. or put them as references on your resume? i'm sure when you get the actual application they might have a spot for people you know that work with americorps. but i don't know. that just seems to usually be the case.
