Just watched the 2002 adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo. I never watched it back when it came out despite the book being one of my all time favorite books.

Since the last book I finished this month was a re-read of The Count of Monte Cristo (unabridged this time), I decided to watch the movie.

Very fun movie that is good on its own. Very, very loosely based on Dumas' novel though

i'm not... I am being dragged to GA TWICE over a month period (i hate long boring car trips) - that will amount to 32 hours in the car


and my fiance's sister is having a baby, so I'm sure most of the time will be spent at the hospital or sitting around oogling over the baby (which also means I need to pay up for boarding my dog and her cat for 2 weeks as well since they won't be welcomed- during the holidays... $$$$)

Establishing new friendships can be a little weird sometimes, though definitely not always. That doesn't bother me as much as the people who act like they have to abandon the friends they already have because they are "forbidden" from having opposite-sex friends anymore. I would not put up with that, and I don't know why so many people seem to do it.

maybe if you start asking around now, you might be able to find someone who can keep the dog and check in on the cat while you guys are gone. you can still pay them but less than what the kennel would offer. i know i'm normally around during the holidays and i'm sure there are others too.

ugh the state fair. the one week i have to go in for daily morning lab work at my doctor's office and it's the same week as the state fair. who would have thought that at 8:30am every morning there would be people already going into the fairgrounds.
