HA! GOT IT OPEN!

I used a screw and a pair of pliers, but couldn't pull hard enough to get the cork over the inner lip. So, I got the ice pick and shoved the cork into the wine (making a mess) and getting the wine out that way!

Now, I am drinking wine from a mason jar!
