Anyone who didn't know they had a shitty ass bullpen was both delusional and stupid.
Jorge Sosa MIGHT be my favorite pitcher though...

Ha ha very true. If you predict the same shit every year, you're bound to be right eventually.
We'll need a major collapse of the Mets to pull anything off this year though. Atleast the Phils suck too so if we play well we can easily pass them. With Pedro having injury issues again and the rest of the Mets staff very inconsistent, maybe the Braves can make up some ground. The Mets offense is still very, very good though.7/7/2006 10:36:47 AM |

unfortunately i don't think there's much chance we'll get both
i'd rather get a couple of young relievers, doesn't look like there will be many quality starters on the market
i think we'll lose smoltz, giles, saltalamamcamcia, and probably luis hernandez
we have plenty of minor league talent to deal
if we can stay within 8 or 9 games i imagine we can avoid the fire sale 7/9/2006 11:00:17 PM |
abonorio All American 9344 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the trade deadline... because it'll break my heart seeing Smoltz in a different uniform (maybe Tigers?)
But if that's what needs to be done, then that's what needs to be done. The Mets always collapse... but with their offense this year (and David Wright) I'm not sure if there's much chance of hanging #15 beside the others... But hey, it was a hell of a ride and we're not quite done yet. The Braves still have the best farm system in all of baseball. I think we realize that we have a problem with the pitching (a non-characteristic Braves problem)... we'll correct it and get 15 divisions of 16 next year. 7/9/2006 11:22:19 PM |

i was watching that game last night and i was so fucking pissed. the braves blew multiple leads of multiple runs. it sucked because hudson did what he had to do and then the bullpen destroyed it again. 2 blown saves in one game!!
at least they fucked up hoffman and ended up with the win in the end. if the braves can do something to settle down their bullpen, i know they hav a chance to comeback. i'm not giving up on them yet. 7/15/2006 3:30:58 PM |

Chipper is tearing shit up. He looks like the Chipper from 99 that just absolutely murdered the Mets
Also the Braves clearly need to focus on the wild card and forget the division unless the Mess start to really, really struggle (plz God to make the Mets suck). They are 5 1/2 out in the wild card and in reality, their biggest worries should be the Astros and Dodgers - two teams that play in tougher divisions this year. If the Braves can consistently win 2 out of 3 and keep the bullpen from exploding each night, they'll be right there come September. I'll be pretty impressed though if this team can finish the year above .500 after the 6-22 or whatever June. 7/17/2006 5:30:42 PM |
