it is the only movie that I am not waiting to see at a 1.50 or DVD. I mean opening weekend I'm going and I think a lot of people are the same way. So yeah.

Tomorrow the DVDs come out. I'm buying it. Rarely would I buy a DVD without seeing it but damn!

It is a storyline based off of the Long Halloween graphic novel. Dent, Batman and Gordon are on a mission to rid Gotham of its criminals but Dent unlike Batman wants to follow the law to bring them in. Dent is disfigured and turns into Two Face and changes his outlook and is willing to bring the criminals to justice by any means necessary including killing them. Which puts him at odds with Batman.

These clips are showing how many ungodly takes they did on these scenes. I think everytime I hear the same joker lines they're always different.

does dent already have that violent personality he tries to repress before he turns in to two face?

^^^Not so much in the Long Halloween storyline. He has some issues with his father but they don't play up a hidden violent personality waiting to come out. Dent is a parallel to Batman but does his crime fighting within the confines of the law. When he becomes Two Face he still has that crime fighting aspect but it is distorted by his disfigurement.

The split/violent personality concept for Two Face came from Batman: the Animated Series.

Quote :
"The mayhem and torture wreaked here, by saint or scum, are so vivid and persistent that it's a wonder, and a puzzle, why The Dark Knight snagged a PG-13 rating. (Don't take your 9-year-old son unless you think he'd enjoy seeing a kid just like him tremble in fear while a gun is held to his head by a previously sympathetic character.) But kids would have trouble following the movie, let alone understanding it. For teens and adults, it's a strap-yourselves-in trip, handsome and assured as only a big-budget picture can be. (Part of it was shot in the IMAX process, which lends the action scenes a startling clarity and depth.) And for reassurance, Nolan brings back old friends from Batman Begins: Michael Caine as Bruce's butler Alfred and Morgan Freeman as Fox, who takes care of Bruce's toys.

Actually, they're just diversions from the epochal face-off of Bruce and the Joker. For a good part of the film, when the two embrace in a free fall of souls — one doomed, the other imperiled — you may think you're in the grip of a mordant masterpiece. That feeling will pass, as the film spends too many of its final moments setting up the series' third installment. The chill will linger, though. The Dark Knight is bound to haunt you long after you've told yourself, Aah, it's only a comic-book movie.
"

not a bad thing, we knew that was the case. I am so freaking excited for this movie

^^Makes me feel better. I thought there might be some new stuff. I'm surprised they have been as open publicly to this movie as they have. They are usually under such tight raps but even going back to the filming in Chicago they let a lot of the local news media outlet get away with stuff. I still remember for Begins how they went under the whole "Rory's First Kiss" name and everything was so top secret. This being said though I fully expect some huge twists as to what we are "expecting" IE: a Ducard is really Ras Al Ghul type moment.

^^^ turns out bruce is still under the spell of the hallucinogen when it was FIRST administered to him in Begins. I mean, what else would account for crazy bat costumes and people running around in clown makeup like it was normal shit?

your answer is on the last page.
Quote :
"He's an absolute as the movie begins. There is no origin story. He just is; but it's def makeup. The makeup smears quite often when he sweats and if you can find the image of where he pulls out his card and says "here's my card," you can even see it smeared on his coat."

thats cool, I don't have a problem with that, it's hard to believe a chemical could really turn your skin white anyway

yeah i dont think an origin is even necessary. you knew from the end of the first one that he had began a rampage through town. So its best to begin the second with an absolute, no introduction needed.

I was suggesting on another board that he may be a prisoner who escaped from arkham, either something drove him crazy there or he is just trying to reinvent himself

the chemical did not turn his skin white in the first batman movie, either...

it deformed his face, the "surgeon" tried to mend it, but it left him with that goofy smile...

then he put on makeup

Spiderman 3 was almost unwatchable since you couldnt tell what was going on at all, but maybe Christopher Nolan is (and i suspect he is) more talented at making an iMax film

Theres 2 types of IMAX screen

The one where its like a normal screen in shape, just much bigger

and the one where its curved and the screen is literally all around you

I saw Superman on the former and it was badass...there were like 4 scenes where you put on 3d glasses and shit looked like it was coming right at you

I couldn't imagine seeing a real movie on the latter...its cool for nature shows and such but it would be hard to see all the details in a serious movie

I like watching movies at the IMAX, but just make sure you sit in the back because the first few rows are hard to see what's going on.

^^yeah the latter they consider "omnimax" i think. There is one at Discovery Place here in CLT. I couldn't imagine seeing TDK there. I've seen tons of "nature" films there, including everest which rocked, but i dont think i could ever see a feature on that screen.

^yea, I saw the last Harry Potter on it after I had already seen it in a regular movie theater. It was IMPOSSIBLE for me to tell what was going on and I had already seen the damn movie.

Never go see anything in an omnimax that isnt formatted for it.
