Adrian Wilson news update:

Quote :
"Wilson played one snap on offense in Week 2, the Arizona Republic reports.
Spin: He was used as a blocker on a sweep play. Wilson received some action as a receiver while at Florida State University, but other than the occasional gadget play, we don't expect him to play much offense this season."

WTF ESPN???

Trade advice:

GET
Patrick Crayton
Brandon Jackson

LOSE
Bryant Johnson

I have Ryan Grant, and Bry. Johnson is my #3 WR behind Andre Johnson and Ocho Stinko. Do I take this offer? I really like Johnson's potential but getting Crayton AND Grant's backup is tempting.

Ok, so my RBs are under-achieving like crazy.

RBS: LT, J. Lewis, T. Jones, K. Smith, and S. Morris (start 2)
WRs: TO, R. Williams, L. Coles, C. Chambers, R. Brown*, and K. Curtis* (start 3)

A guy in our league has a stable of good RBs but it crap at WR.
Should I try to give up either Coles or Chambers to get B. Jacobs?

coles, no question, if he will give him up. Is ahmad bradshaw available? Heard on the radio this morning the giants were moving him to the "#1 RB" slot, for what it's worth.

Pick 1 RB:

J. Stewart vs. Minn.
S. Morris vs. Miami

Pick 3 WR:

Santonio Holmes vs. Philly
D. Henderson vs. Denver
Chansi Stuckey vs. SD
L. Coles vs. SD
A. Randel El vs. Arizona

My WRs have been completely shit for the last two weeks. I think I'm leaning Stuckey, Holmes and Henderson.

Thoughts?

Need trade advice:

A guy is willing to part with Marshawn Lynch, Michael Turner, and/or Chris Johnson.

I'm looking to get rid of Randy Moss or Marques Colston...most likely Colston for a good RB.

My RBs now are underperforming and its hurting me bigtime. My RBs:

Ryan Grant, Thomas Jones, Jamal Lewis, Kevin Smith, Julius Jones, Justin Fargas.

I'm thinking about trading Colston for Lynch straight up if possible. Is this fair? Should I look to get Turner instead?

I'd rather have Lynch than Turner over a whole season

somebody please post an update when Justin Fargas' MRI comes back today...after seeing Run DMC and Michael Bush run wild after he went out on Sunday, who knows about Fargas' value

Okay, so my team is pretty stacked and I'm sitting at 2-0 right now, despite Braylon Edwards not doing dick thus far. So here's what I'm having a tough time with:

My receiving core is pretty deep. I have Braylon Edwards, Steve Smith, Greg Jennings, Hines Ward, and Anthony Gonzalez. Steve Smith comes back this week, so I'm wondering which three guys to start. Do I start Braylon and hope the snaps out of the fuck this week against the Ravens? Do I keep Steve Smith on the bench for one more week as it's his first game back? I feel like I need to start Hines Ward as he's been huge thus far, and Aaron Rodgers has been killing it, so Greg Jennings feels like a no-brainer. Basically, of Smith, Edwards and Ward, which two would you start?

More trade advice

I was offered A Gates for Thomas Jones.

I have Owen Daniels as my TE but lacking depth at RB and probably should not give up my second RB.

I have Gore, T Jones, and Forte and also F Taylor but he hasn't done much.

My QBs and WRs are great so no need for improvement there. I really should try to improve my Rbs and not worry about my TE. What do you think?

Should I try to re-do the trade and maybe get Selvin Young or D Ward and Gates for T Jones and O Daniels?

On waiver Norwood, Dunn, K Jones, L Jordan are available too.

^^I'd start Smitty and Braylon as your top 2 receivers

^I kind of like hanging on to Daniels and T Jones since RBs are important, but if you traded for Gates, you might find a bigger Gates fan to trade you a better player for him...you might want to feel that out before you take Gates

^^^Jennings, Smith, and Ward. You go with who is hot and who has potential. Smith should be fresh and could potentially blow up. I'd keep Braylon on the bench until Anderson proves he is competent under center again.

^^How many RBs do you start? If you can start 2 then I'd keep T. Jones as he gives you a solid 3rd option since F. Taylor won't do much for a while.

as a side note, I'm playing Fred Taylor in my flex spot this weak

Indy's porous run defense + Bob Sanders out 4-6 weeks = play the running back

Can start 3 rb's

Steven Jackson
Fast Willie Parker
Jamal Lewis
Matt Forte

should i play the studs (forte, parker, jackson) despite some of their situations. Parker faces a stingy run D in the eagles, the Rams offense is lack thereof, and Forte is set for a good week?

^^What are your other options at the flex spot? I agree Indy's D is poised to get blasted without Sanders, but that Jax OL and possibly no MJD means that offense could be rough.

^Keep Jamal on the bench until that offense shows some consistency. They have played 3 tough D's in a row and with the Ravens having a bye week, look for them to have a solid performance. Look for J. Lewis to definitely make his comeback to primetime next week against Cincy.

^^I have Addai and Thomas Jones as my starting RBs, and Braylon and Hines at WR...flex options are Fred Taylor, Willis McGahee (i wanna see him do something before i start him), Colston (obviously injured), Chris Chambers (tempting), Chester Taylor (i'm waiting for AP to tear some ligaments), Darren Sproles (my other serious flex candidate...depends on LT's injury status)

Jacksonville's O-Line isn't great (lost 2 starters already) and MJD gets carries (and their other RB gets catches) but Taylor led the team in carries last week, and this is the same Indy defense that let Matt Forte rush for 130-whatever yards WITH Sanders, and AP obviously had a field day but he's AP

^^If LT doesn't start or practice much this week definitely go with Sproles. I'd consider riding Chambers until he cools off or even taking a chance on McGahee against the Browns if he's 100%. Willie Parker feasted on that D and who knows what the passing game will look like. Not sure why but that Jax offense just isn't looking great to me.

TRADE ADVICE

Thinking about dealing for either Kurt Warner or Jason Campbell.

I would give up DeSean Jackson and Jonathan Stewart/Matt Forte.

Which QB should I go after and which RB should I give up?

Current starters:
QB: Matt Hasselback, Marc Bulger, Pennington, Tarvaris (play 2)
RB: Brian Westbrook, Willie Parker, Jonathan Stewart, Matt Forte (play 2)
WR: Fitz, Brandon Marshall, Santonio Holmes, DeSean, David Patton (play 3)

^^I got Taylor late so I'm not sold on him doing anything this year, but if his age doesnt hurt him, he's still one of the most underrated RBs in the NFL

i'm still hesitant about McGahee though...they're saying Baltimore might be a 3-headed rushing attack...I'm mad I didn't play Chambers last week, but I think Braylon is gonna have a monster game very soon...that Colston injury is whats killing me

Is Dunn better than Taylor? So far Dunn has been getting 10+ touches a game. Taylor has been getting a few too but hasn't been posting good numbers.

I think their offensive line is hurting and Dunn has more opportnuity to succeed behind Earnest Graham then Taylor does behind MJD.

Thoughts?

So, should I start Romo @ GB or Rodgers?

Also, should I give up on Larry Johnson this week and start Edgerrin James (my other backups being Selvin Young and Chester Taylor) or give Johnson another chance? (My other starter is Stephen Jackson).

Frerotte is in and Jackson is out in Minny, supposedly for the rest of the year. So if you are a Jackson owner you should consider changing it up.

^^In larger leagues that start 2 QBs a lot of people have him on their bench as a back-up in case a starter is on BYE or hurt. Which was the case in our league.

And yes J-Co and Sheffler have more upside than Sproles and Miller.

J-Co is Favre's deep ball guy and Sheffler is Cutler's safety net. Sproles will get some carries until LT's turf toe is healed up and then he'll go back to being a kick returner and Miller is a decent TE but Parker is getting it at the goalline now.

i dunno whether or not Taylor is more valuable than Dunn, but MJD is behind Taylor, not the other way around (at least so far this season)...look who has the most carries...Taylor got 9 carries in week 1, 14 carries in week 2...MJD got 5 carries in week 1, 7 carries in week 2

Someone dropped Javon Walker in my league. Should I drop Matt Jones and pick him up?

I already have Wes Welker, Reggie Wayne, and Roy Williams.

^^ I don't know I think the Jags offense hasn't looked all that great. I think their offensive line is hurt thus both Taylor and MJD are not putting up big numbers. However they could have a big game against Indy, since they can't stop the run and Sanders is out.

[Edited on September 17, 2008 at 3:27 PM. Reason : Taylor / MJD comment]

^^yeah he has 7 for 62 this year, Taylor only 2 catches for 14

optimally for jacksonville, they'd like to get both of these guys going...i just think after taylor railed off 5 straight 100+ yard rushing games to close out the season last year, he is kind of RB1 and MJD is RB1a

although you could easily say MJD is more valuable in a PPR league

^^R. Brown should be back this week but he might not be 100%. K-Rob should be #1 until Branch and Engram come back in a couple of weeks. If you're looking for immediate but temporary results then yeah go K-Rob, but if you want the best WR for the season, hands down R. Brown. McNabb is torching teams with back-up WRs, wait until R. Brown is the #1 or #2 (depending on Curtis) guy.

^Start O'Sullivan this week against Detroit for sure, that D is bad. Frerotte will be in his first game and the Panthers D is pretty good.

Desean Jackson and Darren Sproles for Julius Jones
and
Welker and Eddie Royal for Andre Johnson

Thoughts? I would be getting Jones and Johnson

My wr: Smitty, Marvin Harrison, Eddie Royal, Welker, Colston (Play 3)
My rb: AP, Grant, Turner (Play 3)

As you can see I have a little bit of a RB void, there arent too many good ones available. I'm definitely liking the second deal, and as for the first I don't know too much about Jones, but unless LT goes down Sproles isnt that great, and I cant expect Jackson to continue at his pace being a rookie.

QB situation is real poor so decided to propose a big trade. Guy is pretty frustrated with Addai and has a few QB's to spare which are hard to come by in our 10 person start 2 league.

I would give: Willie Parker, Santonio Holmes, DeMarcus Ware... probably another lower key WR or a lower key RB
I would get: Big Ben, Joseph Addai, Housh

Starting roster so far:
QB: Hasselback and Bulger
RB: Brian Westbrook, Willie Parker, Matt Forte, Jonathan Stewart, and Mendenhall

Figured Forte could fill in until Addai gets Saturday back and Ben is a huge improvement over Bulger if his shoulder doesn't get worse.

What do you guys think of the trade?
