and a 'witch hunt' is rightly so. given the extreme radical past of the president; from the marxist/socialist mentors he followed and studied under, to expediently reaching the top of the political bell curve thanks to the separate gov't entity known as corrupt chicago politics, to his recently published book which has red ink dispersed through out .. to blindly except his every move is idiotic.

and dont undermine a "czar's" position in any case, he/she still has immediate access to the president with all influential capabilities

we dont need a self proclaimed marxist in the goddamn executive branch, let alone anywhere near our constitution and those elected who abide by it

i dont want communist in my govt, but as far as we know he is no longer one, and he should be judged by his actions and word, not by his past
what this is is a childish revenge attempt with little regard for the benefit of the country
they are now trying to destroy obama by destroying whats around him
and if that means our country suffers then its fine with them cause a country with a president they dont like is a country they dont like

Mr. Thomas, the farmer, a stock man wearing a paper sun
helmet, enters. His face is worried as he squats down beside
the ditch. What he has come to say has taken some effort and
he is still uncertain and annoyed. The men stop work.

THOMAS
Lissen here. Maybe I'm talkin' myself
outa my farm, but I like you fellas,
so I'm gonna tell you. You live in
that gov'ment camp, don't you?

TOM
(stiffening)
Yes, sir.

THOMAS
And you have dances every Saturday
night?

WILKIE
(smiling)
We sure do.

THOMAS
Well, look out next Saturday night.

TIM
(suddenly tense)
What you mean? I belong to the central
committee. I got to know.

THOMAS
Don't you ever tell I told.

TIM
What is it?

THOMAS
(angrily)
Well, the association don't like the
government camps. Can't get a deputy
in there. Can't arrest a man without
a warrant. But if there was a big
fight, and maybe shooting--a bunch
of deputies could go in and clean
out the camp.
(Unfolding a newspaper)
Like last night. Lissen. "Citizens,
angered at red agitators, burn another
squatters' camp, warn agitators to
get out of the county."

TOM
(sick of the expression)
Listen. What *is* these reds?
Ever'time you turn aroun' somebody
sayin' somebody else's a red. What
is these reds, anyway?

WILKIE
(chuckling)
Well, I tell you. They was a fella
up the country named King--got about
30,000 acres an' a cannery an' a
winery--an' he's all a time talkin'
about reds. Drivin' the country to
ruin, he says. Got to git rid of
'em, he says. Well, they was a young
fella jus' come out an' he was
listenin one day. He kinda scratched
his head an' he says, "Mr. King,
what *is* these reds you all a time
talkin' about?" Well, sir, Mr. King
says, "Young man, a red is any fella
that wants thirty cents a hour when
I'm payin' twenty-five."

THOMAS
(fretfully)
I ain't talkin' about that one way
or the other. All I'm saying is that
there's going to be a fight in the
camp Saturday night. And there's
going to be deputies ready to go in.

TOM
But why? Those fellas ain't botherin'
nobody.

THOMAS
I'll tell you why. Those folks in to
being treated like humans. Suppose
the Government closes its camps.
Suppose too many people pass through
'em. Well, when those people go back
to the squatters' camps they'll be
hard to handle.
(Wiping his brow)
Go on back to work now. Maybe I've
talked myself into trouble, but you're
folks like us, and I like you.

TIM
(extending his hand)
Nobody won't know who tol'. We thank
you.
(Grimly)
An' they ain't gonna be no fight,
either.

holy shit, watch out, obama haters have no thought process other than to bring his administration down.

Kinda' sounds familiar. bush endured 8 years of such protesting, to the likes of which obama hasnt even seen ... yet ...

disapproval ratings, approval ratings, and almost every rating that can be polled are going against the administration. thats not from some disillusioned radical movement. this is from widespread angst against the still-learning president ..

" * For all the public's reservations about health care reform, however, Barack Obama continues to enjoy the confidence of a majority of the public with regard to this issue. More say they have at least a fair amount of confidence in Obama on this issue (56%) than say that about either Democratic congressional leaders (45%) or Republican leaders (39%).

* The economy remains the most frequently mentioned national problem, but an increasing proportion of Americans cite health care. Currently, 50% cite the economy as the most important national problem, down from 80% in February. Mentions of health care have risen from just 3% then to 20% today.

His approval ratings are down, but Obama still has a lot of credibility. It's not that people don't like WHAT he's trying to do, they are displeased, I would guess, with the way he's trying to do it. Which is easy to understand, when you have the single largest media outlet spreading blatant lies about the Obama administration and their plans.

dude that first part is dumb...there've been a few different articles on how when you take out "choice" in that statement, its under 50%...theres a similar example using the word "option"...for you to parade that out, especially with a huffingtonpost link is kinda insulting

^ ha, what's your point?

The fact that it is a "choice" or an "option" is critical, and the fact that more people support it when it is made clear is also critical. This actually reinforces that idea that the distortionary media is damaging what the public views as their own interests.

^^^ that's like saying "you don't have choice on which food you eat because you have to buy them in a grocery store"

the exchange, as one plan had it designed, is going to include public and private options, and you would STILL have the option of getting a premium plan outside the exchange if you like.

given that EVERY plan in the exchange has to meet federal gov't stipulations, it's disingenuous to say that you have a choice of something other than the gov't plan. And no, you can't get a premium plan outside of the exchange. It's like you haven't even been listening...

As for the "grocery store," I was not aware that there was only one grocery store chain and that it was run exclusively by the gov't, with all food items in the store approved bythe gov't. really...

Has this been posted?

Apparently, someone started a rumor that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young girl in 1990, and Beck hasn't denied it yet:
http://didglennbeckrapeandmurderayounggirlin1990.com/

And Beck is upset, even though the site specifically says they don't think he did it, that the site even exists:
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2009/09/can-a-mere-domain-name-be-defamation-glenn-beck-says-yes.ars

Beck is suing the site for defamation

^ keyword being "did?" haha. that's rich. I guess I should go out and make a website called "Did thegoodlife rape and murder sara king in 2005" and you will be A-OK with that, right? As long as I put "did" in front of it.

The point of the site is to attack the very common tactic that Beck and his cohorts like to use of making a loaded statement, then saying the evidence is unclear.

They know that even if the loaded statement they make is false (did glenn beck rape and murder a young girl), and the qualify that it may be false, it still plants the seed in a listener/viewer than the thing might have happened, but no one knows for sure.

The two instances of Beck doing this that got the most attention:
is Obama a racist?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/28/fox-host-glenn-beck-obama_n_246310.html

and any of the episodes where he talks about Obama’s birth certificates (which you fell for btw ha!).

It’s a spin on the old classic “so when did you stop beating your wife?"

So, beck is discussing events that actually happened, and leads with an edgy headline. As opposed to someone making a sight about an event that probably never happened. And you equate those two?

Obama, last night:
Quote :
"Without competition, the price of insurance goes up and quality goes down. And it makes it easier for insurance companies to treat their customers badly by cherry-picking the healthiest individuals and trying to drop the sickest, by overcharging small businesses who have no leverage, and by jacking up rates. Insurance executives don't do this because they're bad people; they do it because it's profitable."

Sean Hannity, right afterwards:
Quote :
"he said tonight that insurance executives are bad people, it took me back because it was so harsh, and I think unfair"

and even after watching the clip right their on the show, Pollster hack Frank Luntz repeated what Sean said
Quote :
"I think that he's trying to demonize a segment of American society, and through the work that I've done, he may be successful, Sean"
