Vinny will prove to be energetic and bit cantankerous. At one point he will run after a rabbit and get away from Jack, his life partner Jacob, and their adopted son David. He'll jump down an old well after the rabbit. Once he gets down there, he'll spot the rabbit and take off after it. Oh my, what's this? Vinny's leash is snagged on what appears to be an old wooden wheel/spoke thing (which really seems out of place). As he tries to run, the wheel slowly spins, there's a flash, and the alternate time-line somehow merge with the island time-line.

yeah, it was pretty boring, with the exception of the appendix scar thing, which along with the cut on Jacks neck in the season premiere have been the most intriguing aspects of the flash sideways to me, and seems like these are gonna lead to how the timelines come together.

so I just read that the 3 images in the mirror were:

-the pagoda where Sun and Jin were married, which is also the place where Jacob met/touched them

-the church where Sawyers parents were buried, also the place where Jacob met/touched him

-the Shephard home where Jack grew up. This is not the place where Jacob met/touched him, so maybe this suggests it is where Jacob met Christian

That is interesting, but I don't think it's Christian for the simple fact that Jack seems to be the "main" character once again (after they had started to get away from him a bit in the past few seasons). I think the finale is going to focus on Jack, for better or worse. That is interesting, though, that the other two places in the mirror are the places where Jacob touched those characters. However, though, we don't know if number 108 is Kwon, or if it was on Sawyer's number when it showed that church.

108 is a red herring of sorts. jacob obviously never intended for the lighthouse to be used in the way he instructed hurley, because wallace's name has been crossed out. i don't doubt that someone is coming to the island, though.

I mean the sum is 108. But if you group it like this:
A. 4 + 8 + 42 = 54
B. 15 + 16 +32 = 54
Then you have 2 even sides. And those groups are:
A. Locke, Hurley, Jin/Sun
B. Sawyer, Sayid, Jack/Christian
(per #'s on wheel/cave)

If you take team A to be Jacob's team, then Locke has been removed by Smokey. So that leaves team A down to two people. But if you take Sheppard to be Christian, then team B is also down to 2 people. Perhaps Smokey thinks Christian was the Sheppard in question and Jacob thinks it's Jack, so maybe he could be the "swing vote" for this little tie.

With the way these Lost writers can be, I doubt it's an "Easter Egg", it probably has more to do with it than you'd think.

In regards to my last post: Upon further consideration, Smokey might think that Sheppard is actually referring to Claire. It would explain why he recruited/infected her. So if that theory of the numbers I detailed above were correct, then Smokey needs to get Sayid and his "team" will be amassed. Jacob still needs to get Jin/Sun on his side, which shouldn't be too hard now that Jin has seen Claire's crazy ass and Sun saw the Locke body.

I think when we get frustrated by lack of plot development in a particular episode and complain that the show should have no more questionsonly answers at this point with only 14 shows left, you have to remember that 14 x 43 = 602 minutes of new material left, 5 times the length of your average movie. So there is still going to be plenty of time to answer all the important stuff, but they can't blow their load all at once. Only if they're still wasting time when May comes around will it be a real issue.

Also, guys, in regards to the numbers: If you take 4 and multiply it by the square root of 8+15-42, you get an "invisible" number. But, when you add 23 to that sum and take the square root of THAT, then divide that by 16, you get a rational number again. This explains when the island disappears ("invisible") and reappears ("rational").

Plus...think of the numbers as letters in the alphabet. 4=D, 8=H, 15=O, 16=P, 23=W, 42=?
The letter "O" is a vowel. So is the letter "A", thus we can show 15=A. If we add just one line to the letter "P" (just because), it becomes "R". Flip the letter "W"--that's right, it becomes a "M". As for 42: Look at the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints' standout safety, Darren Sharper. His jersey number is 42, and what is the 2ND letter in his first name and 3RD (2 and 3: 23) letter in his last name? A!

So, 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42=DHARMA!

Guys, I don't mean to belabor the point, but it will be revealed that the whole purpose of the island is that it is part of an elaborate government plot (run by Chuck Widmore) to allow the Dharma Initiative to do research on chemical warfare (what do you think the smoke monster is???). Also, Jacob doesn't exist. He never did. And "candidate" isn't a real word.

In all seriousness, though, there will be new characters introduced in this season. Maybe one of the new characters will be or will help explain "Wallace". But, I think the greater likelihood is that it doesn't matter who "Wallace" is; Jacob said that he just needed Jack to see the mirrors. He probably just told him to turn to 108 simply BECAUSE it is the sum of all the numbers of the candidates. We've already gotten the answer as to where the numbers come from (assuming Jacob's assignment of them to the main characters was the first use of the numbers); that's sufficient for me. This past episode did suck and provide little to no answers, but the week before that was awesome, so I'm not going to jump all over the writers quite yet.
