I'm thrilled that Bayern won but they need to pray that Inter beat Barcelona in the other semi because otherwise, I fear it could be a tennis score if they meet Messi and co in the final.
Don't know if this was already posted but some vintage Jose from earlier this week:
Inter coach Jose Mourinho's amazing pre-match comments after CSKA's scheduled league game against Zenit St Petersburg at the weekend was cancelled for security reasons following the double Moscow suicide bombings last week: "CSKA have already done something to win - they didn't play on Saturday," said Mourinho. "They used a slightly sad excuse but they did it well. Of course they could just have told the truth. Would I coach in Russia? Only for CSKA, because they have the ability to reschedule matches as they want." 4/7/2010 10:43:23 PM |

I've said it many times before, but it needs repeating. SAF is a douche. I so badly want Jose Mourinho to come back to the EPL and make his life hell.

HUGE MATCH TODAY
IMO Barca/Inter are the best two teams left. Inter has a chance to make a statement tonight if they can get a win and keep Barca from getting more than 1 away goal. You know Ibra is dying for that goal too.
Inter has plenty of firepower to get it done, but I still like Barca to eventually get through to the Final. 4/20/2010 11:37:07 AM |

The announcers made the comment about Barca taking a bus to Milan and if it might have affected them. Should Inter have to travel by bus to Barca? Same with Lyon-Bayern. 4/20/2010 5:18:02 PM |

I'm pissed off that Barcelona lost....but this works out well for Bayern, so I can't complain.
Also, what cable/satellite package should I get - I want to watch plenty of soccer and rugby (that's Fox Soccer plus I presume)? Don't need a lot of much else, maybe BBC. I know there are several threads in Tech Talk but I'm likely to get more soccer relevant answers here. 4/20/2010 6:34:18 PM |

^ Fox Soccer channel you can get with just about any provider. Setanta, which used to be the best channel for football, or rugby isn't available anywhere anymore as far as I know. I have uverse and like it quite a bit, they offer FSC in HD, which I don't remember having with Directv. 4/20/2010 6:46:39 PM |

I've always read that Direct TV was the best option if you get the sports package but I've never had anything other than TimeWarner so I can't speak from experience 4/20/2010 6:47:08 PM |

No. That would be ridiculous. You could just as well argue that if Ibrahimovic gets injured in some fluke accident, Eto'o should be barred from the second leg in the interest of fairness. Bad luck is bad luck, and it's totally unfair to deliberately inflict it on the other side.
Screw the ten-hour bus ride, for me. You're Barcelona, play like it.
And the fact is that Barcelona were outwitted by Jose Mourinho and outplayed by Inter Milan. He identified Barca's high line as a weakness, and Inter exploited the fuck out of it. Barca were almost lucky to walk out of that game with just a two-goal deficit. At the end of it, even with all the Barca pressure, an Inter goal looked just as likely, probably more so.
My hat's off to Jose Mourinho. They weren't going to dominate possession against Barcelona, but they counter-attacked them at every possible opportunity, and a 3-1 victory was the result.

If you don't mind watching on a computer screen, Foxsoccer.tv is a pretty sweet deal...$50 gets you On-Demand access to a whole season of pretty much all the games on Fox Soccer Channel (Champions League included) and I'm pretty sure they have rugby, too. ]4/20/2010 8:15:18 PM |

Very much looking forward to this match.
I'm wondering if Jose is going to pack it in and have his back line play physical with the Barca forwards or open it up and try to get that away goal that would almost assuredly sent them through to the final.
As much as it hurts to say, Inter is going to get that goal, lose 2-1, but still get through to Madrid. 4/28/2010 1:21:25 PM |
