That's the stat I'm more interested in. I even remember last year where I was absolutely convinced that if it was 3rd and short our defense might stop them but if it was 3rd and long, especially if it was 3rd and over 10, we had no chance at all.

It could be third and inches or third and 50 but I still have no faith in our defense to stop it. I was being an apologist for a long time but something has to change. Zone D works but it just isn't working for us for some reason.

you don't really need any detailed stats to know that when our linemen can't get to the QB, they can complete a pass to pretty much anywhere they want in our secondary. Willie young is the only one who can/will try to bat down passes on short drops, which is what everyone should be doing.

Right down the middle, flats, and screens are a fucking pay day for the other team.

you can look and tell by how hesitant our guys are, the system is way too fucking complex for them to execute it well. But that seems to be the mantra of our sports -- use systems that are so convoluted, the actual players on the teams have a low probability of executing it effectively.
