BOULERICE: LEGACY
sorry if it was posted, i just saw this
so we all remember how, in 2003, famed canes enforcee jesse boulerice was spectacularly bitchmade by aaron downey
after what i can only assume was seven years of waking up in a cold sweat every night and training like rocky in the snow, jesse finally got another shot at downey in the preseason this year and it was quite a display of fisticuffsmanship

^^ Don't forget, Jesse Boulerice has two-handed someone in the face on TWO occasions, resulting in cumulative suspensions of fourteen months.
Truly an athlete we can all look up to. 12/22/2010 5:00:13 AM |

hilarity has once again ensued on the facebook page
"OMG IT SNOWED IS THE GAME CANCELLED??"
jesus, we would be the laughing stock of the nhl if we cancelled a game because of less than a foot of snow.
I remember when we had the big snow in 2000 I believe, I went the Phoenix game in which they made free admission because maybe 5k showed up for it. 12/26/2010 11:11:36 AM |

Not to be too much of a stickler, but nope. He came out for warm ups, whacked a puck at the empty net, hit the cross bar, and put the puck in the netting. Second try, cross bar, straight back at him. Third try at the empty net, he finally put one in. I kinda thought it was a good omen for us. 12/27/2010 1:41:11 PM |

I don't want to distract from the game, but do you guys think we could ever host the Winter Classic at Carter-Finley Stadium? I've heard that the NHL when looking at venues in the past has thought that while college football venues, like say Beaver Stadium for a Pens/Flyers matchup, are good ideas, the logistics of having to have all the equipment on a university campus could be a problem due to parking and disturbing students. Since C-F is away from the main campus this wouldn't be a problem. Raleigh on January 1st has historically had a mean temperature of 40 degrees, so I don't think ice conditions should be too big of an issue. Heck the NHL once hosted an outdoor game in Las Vegas. I think the people of Raleigh would really rally around the unique experience of the Winter Classic, and if it was against a decent traveling fan base then a sell out wouldn't be a problem. The city and Hurricanes organization is obviously thought of by the NHL since we will host the All-Star game this year, and have hosted the draft before.
If Raleigh ever did host the Winter Classic, which teams would you think would be good for the Hurricanes to play. I think the NHL may want to go with a team that hasn't played in one before, but historically has a good following. Perhaps the Devils or the Rangers. 12/29/2010 9:10:37 PM |

^^^ will never happen. countless venues are more likely to hold it than Carter-Finley.
I like to think I played a hand in the back to back wins in Canada, since I didn't go on the trip. If I had, we would not have won both games. 12/29/2010 9:58:11 PM |
