I still think the best possible ending for the show requires Walt to live. He believes he can do anything because he is smarter then everyone and he isnt scared of the consequences because he believes he will die.

Wouldnt the worst thing be for him to end up in jail cancer free for the rest of his life? I feel like everyone wanting him to die are fans still sympathetic and wanting him to die because it would be good for him as it gives him an escape.

My prediction:

He exacts revenge on Jack and his crew, as well as Jesse.

With all of them dead, he assumes a new identity and re-starts his empire in a different part of the country under his brand new public identity, becoming the biggest kingpin in the world.

Walt will off himself or get wounded in the shootout, have a final conversation of regret for his actions with a rescued Jesse and then die. Jesse being with Andrea and raising Brock will be the "happy ending." That's my guess at this point anyway.

there will be no "happy ending"

the show has done a pretty perfect job of not being a conventional show/following familiar TV tropes

^^I'd be pretty satisfied with a Walt badass spree of redemption, which might lead to a storyline or two ending 'happily'. Skyler seems headed to a..... relatively happy ending I guess maybe. I mean even just murdering the Todd Squad would be pretty 'happy.' though I don't know if Walt 'deserves' that redemption.

an overwhelmingly-bleak-for-everyone ending might be pretty eyerolly though, imo

Just finished last night episode and I am speechless. Speechless Jerry! Without Speech!

Also I don't see this ending well for anybody, as homemade meth empires rarely do but I would like to see Jesse make it out ok.

Walt will not survive, cancer or no.

If Walt and Jesse don't reconcile before this thing ends, I will be personally devastated.

I'm gonna have to show up drunk to a grief support group and talk over some lady who just lost her kid.

This whole season has been based on the opposite of what people want happening. Walt wants to die. I say no chance he dies.

Walt gave the nod for Jesse to be executed. I think for most relationships that is irreparable.

^^lol

Just watched it.

I'm guessing that between that episode and the next is the flash forward, and next week starts out in the Denny's parking lot with the last two episodes as sort of an epilogue.

I liked the beginning bit of the episode with the flashback to the "beginning" and Walt trying to rehearse how to lie to Skylar

Best episode I've seen in a LONG time. Really intense. I just knew the Skylar would get stabbed on accident or the knife would end up in Walt Jr.

^^^^ Can anyone tell what the note says?? I missed that during the show....but now looking at it, I think it says their address right?? "Negraroyale Lane?"

Didn't think I had to clarify my own opinion. I meant as far as suspense was concerned. Last week's was good too, but IMHO not like this past Sunday's.

And clearly those two things didn't happen. Someone else mentioned the same thing, and I was simply agreeing with them.

Go troll someone else.

usually, when one says that an episode is the best they've seen in a LONG time, it implies that it's been a LONG time since the show has been any good. and this show has been nothing short of amazing on a week to week basis

He caused her to roll over onto her back and then didn't stop her vomit choking.

Essentially placed an unconscious person on train tracks and didn't move her when the train came.

But alright.

Holly (presumably White)

Quite possibly the best episode of the entire series this past Sunday. Also possibly the most horrifying hour of television I've ever watched. There were so many good shots; I think my favorite was the dead silence when Walt collapses to the ground and his open mouth looks like a gaping black hole. That was really memorable for me. The acting in this episode was out of this world from everybody involved.

The final 2 episodes will each be longer than 1 hour:

http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/breaking-bad-final-episodes-will-be-extra-long-20130918

This Sunday's episodes will be 75 minutes. Hopefully the finale will be a 4-hour epic.

hopefully this isn't the FX model of extended episodes which just equates to more commercials.

Yeah they should do 2-hour episodes, but with the same amount of commercials as a 1-hour episode!

The episodes are already about 47-ish minutes in a 64 minute timeslot. The next two episodes will be 53-ish minutes in a 75 minute timeslot. So, 6 extra minutes of show and 5 extra minutes of commercials.

i find it strange that people "put up with" commercials in anyway that there's really something to complain about. I thought technology had almost brought us entirely past that point. I mean, TWC dvr has like quadruple fast forward. It takes a skilled fast forwarder to operate at those speeds, but even a novice TV watcher can learn to master triple fast forward in a short period.

I mean, live media is always gonna depend on advertising to pay their bills...if you wanna DVR something then yeah, you can skip commercials

I'd welcome any great show like Breaking Bad having longer episodes, even if I had to put up with, gasp, more commercials

That's what I don't understand. Why does anyone watch TV "live"?

I can set it to record, then start watching about 20 minutes in (you can figure out the right time by looking up actual run times), and finish at the same time as everyone who "watched it live".

If a show starts at 9 and finishes at 10, i start at 920 and also finish at 10. It gives me 20 more minutes to do exactly as I please. I still wrap up at the same time. Even if you finish at 10:05 or 10:10, who cares?

I understand if someone can't afford/won't pay for DVR. But if you do have dvr, watching tv "live" just befuddles me unless it's just something where the show is sort of in the background and you're doing something else.

Probably because not everyone feels constant pressure to maximize every second of their day. Oh great 15 minutes saved that I will spend laying on the couch. I often DVR it myself, but if I'm not doing anything when 9:00 rolls around, I don't want to wait to get going.

this. it's not having to watch the commercials that's the issue. two extra commercial breaks to plug in 6 extra minutes of content. hardly what i'd call a special extended episode. Sons of Anarchy is terrible about that.
