I have no idea what the point of contention is either.
Rivers was unrosterable in a standard league coming into this year. The Rivers owner could have literally any QB1 along with him. A backup QB is worth virtually nothing and despite sucking thus far Bowe still has value because he isnt dead or injured.
^^ If I needed an RB, I'd bid $20-30 for Bell. You don't

Rolling everyone in my 12-team PPR league I won last year. This team is pretty stacked, except for maybe QB:
QB: RG3, Eli, Glennon (just for fun!) RB: Forte, Bush, Murray, Powell WR: Torrey, Colston, Nicks, Shorts, Edelman, Hopkins TE: Cameron K: Dawson DEF: Titans
Who should I roll with as a FA DEF this week (Panthers, Falcons, Browns, Rams, someone else?)
Who should I possibly pick up as a FA QB (dropping Glennon for Pryor, Hoyer, Smith, Flacco, someone else?) 10/1/2013 3:27:20 PM |

Sitting at 2-2 (2nd in Division) in my 12 team standard league. There are 3 Divisions, and the playoffs have 4 teams ( 3 division winners and team with most points). Division play starts this week, and I was offered Ray Rice for Trent Richardson by a team in my division.
My other RBs are: Doug Martin Steven Ridley Danny Woodhead Trent Richardson
His RBs are: Forte Green Ellis Pierce Rice Ryan Matthews
I took a look at each players schedule for divisional weeks, and it looks like this:
Ray Rice - Week 5 @ Dolphins, Week 6 vs Packers, Week 7 @ Steelers, Week 12 vs Jets, Week 13 vs. Steelers, and Week 14 vs. Vikings
Trent Richardson - Week 5 vs. Seahawks, Week 6 @ Chargers, Week 7 vs. Broncos, Week 12 @ Cardinals, Week 13 vs. Titans, and Week 14 @ Bengals.
Am I dumb for considering this trade? 10/1/2013 4:59:36 PM |

^^That's a tough call, but given your other RBs, I would probably hold on to Richardson. Rice just hasn't done much this year so far. At the same time, if the Ravens could get it together he could blow up down the stretch. Keeping what you have would be the safer play, but Rice may payoff big time if you took a gamble.

in a work league with stupid scoring - no PPR, no point per carry, nothing at all related to QB accuracy, return TDs, but not return yards (what?) - I just traded Steven Jackson, Doug Martin and AJ Green for McCoy, Murray, and Bowe. 10/2/2013 1:45:51 PM |

It will be interesting to see this week (or whenever they are both back) how much Amendola and Gronk will cut into targets for Thomkins. I would think that Eldeman would be the one that would see his role reduced the most since, particuarly when Amendola returns. 10/2/2013 4:50:48 PM |

Probably a toss-up, but Woods role in the passin game has been increasing in almost every game. Of course, I'm a bit biased as a Bills fan, but I think he could have a big night against the Browns.

I'm on the Robert Woods bandwagon. Picked him up in 2 of my 3 leagues. He's firmly taken the WR2 position away from TJ Graham and might even be the Bills' WR1 if Stevie lays another egg or two
having that said, should I start Greg Olson @ ARI or Robert Woods @ CLE in my flex spot? 0.5ppr

I'd go Woods, higher ceiling IMO
I need an upgrade at WR and have plenty of RB depth in my league. I offered a guy Doug Martin for Demaryius Thomas straight up, he countered adding James Jones to it...I won't necessarily need Jones after the trade, but I feel like I'm giving up a little too much...what say you? 10/2/2013 8:26:34 PM |

If you can give Spiller or Chris Johnson in a trade and get McCoy, give him Chris Johnson. I repeat. Give him Chris Johnson. In fact giving Johnson and Nelson for McCoy is robbery in almost any league. You should do it before he wises up. 10/2/2013 10:25:25 PM |

here's my dilemma.
I've been offered a trade that I plan to accept. I am being given a choice between Demaryius Thomas or AJ Green in the trade...the other owner is willing to part with either of them and has left it up to me. I like Thomas better. But, that would give me Calvin Johnson, D Thomas, Antonio Brown and Cecil Shorts as my main WRs (start 3 WRs...Shorts would be my #4 guy). But in that scenario I'd have Johnson, Thomas, Shorts all on bye in week 9. Would I be better off asking for Green instead? That way my byes would be more evenly spread...am I over thinking this? It's 0.5 PPR btw. Or do you guys prefer Green over Thomas regardless of bye weeks? 10/2/2013 10:55:27 PM |
ncstatetke All American 41128 Posts user info edit post |
I love the fact that AJ Green is averaging ~13 targets per game. I don't love that he's only catching 51% of the passes thrown his way. He's the most frustrating player on my team. You've got to start him because he's bound to get you a few 20+ point weeks, but you have to live with the fact that there will be weeks he'll get you 7-10 points
Next four weeks for Green: Aqib Talib, Leodis McKelvin, Chris Houston, Antonio Cromartie

^^In terms of Thomas vs. Green week to week it's going to be a toss up in terms of potential points based purely on them alone. However, I'm always going to value a #1 WR with P. Manning as his QB over a #1 WR with Dalton. So if it was me, I would rather have Thomas, and I would figure something out for week 9. Plus, who knows what's going to happen with Shorts when Blackmon comes back so you may be able to drop him ahead of time for one replacement. 10/2/2013 11:31:28 PM |

Can't believe I'm asking.
Romo vs Denver
Or
Pryor vs San Diego
ESPN suggests Pryor, but Romo is the safe pick
I would go for Thomas, take a loss in the bye and hope for the best in the playoffs. But then again, Thomas is more likely to be sitting in the later weeks than Green.

I'm 3-1 leading my division. My plan was to trade Matt Ryan after week four, but everyone wants Rodgers. I just got purposed Rodgers for Luck and Lamar Miller.

No chance in hell. Rodgers is a top 2 QB. Luck is okay and miller doesn't improve your RB position at all.
That trade could fly with Ryan

In general, if there's a trade of two nickels for a dime, whoever got the dime won the trade. I wouldn't care at all about Luck, you're not going to use him. So basically you're trading Rodgers for Lamar Miller. That's a big no. I would trade Rodgers for Lynch or Ryan for Bush.
My question. Do you think Ben Tate is worth holding onto at this point? I'm thinking about dropping him to get Justin Blackmon. 10/3/2013 11:12:38 AM |

Matt Ryan has a bye week six. Colts play San Diego week six and their secondary sucks. There are no free agent QBs in my league.

there are 3 things you should worry about with blackmon
1) cecil shorts is the best WR on the jaguars 2) gabbert/henne/whoever else decides to throw the ball 3) he'll probably end up getting suspended again
that said, tate is really only gonna have value from here on out in really deep leagues or if foster gets hurt. it looks like foster has finally played his way into shape, so i doubt tate gets more than 10 or so carries/game from here on out (unless they're up big).
so do it. 10/3/2013 11:53:27 AM |

Possible trade offer combinations.
I give up Chris Johnson and Gronk for:
any of these three people - Witten, R. Mathews, S. Smith, MJD, CJ Spiller, S. Johnson
My WRs - Fitz, Wayne, Blackmon, D. Hopkins, D. Jackson MY RBs - C. Johnson, Forte, D. Richardson My other TE is C. Clay
Thoughts?

If you could get Spiller for Johnson I would say do it. Johnson may be the feature back and get a greater proportion of the carries compaired to Spiller, but Buffalo's offensive is much more potent than the TEN so there is more potential there. As far as Gronk goes, the argument could be made that Witten is more valuable, but I don't think there's a huge difference, however we haven't seen Gronk play this year so we'll see if expectations based off his past production come true.
So the only possible trade combination I would consider would be for Spiller and Witten, depending on how much you value Witten.

My mistake. In that case, I don't think either of the available WRs would help you all that much, but I would favor Johnson over Smith, so I would try to add some depth at RB and would probably go with Mathews given that he plays on a better offensive and has a more favorable upcoming schedule than MJD. 10/3/2013 3:08:15 PM |
