Who are the 5 teams better than fsu? And how is losing more impressive than winning close? 11/16/2014 10:22:52 PM |

Do you think all of the Power 5 conferences play equal football? ie do you think an undefeated ACC team is just as good as an undefeated SEC team?
How come 1 loss SEC teams routinely blew out undefeated Ohio State? Because every conference isn't equal. The SEC is the best. 11/16/2014 10:26:04 PM |

Sec has nore depth duh but the last few years have not suggested that the top sec teams are necessarily that much better than other p5 top teams. Oklahoma took bama to the woodshed. Clemson beat lsu and ojio state. Duke almost beat tamu. Etc etc 11/16/2014 10:52:59 PM |

Already been said, but FSU does seem like some of those Ohio St teams that made the BCS game. If this was still the BCS, I'd be complaining if FSU made the championship game, but with 4 teams I think they (currently) deserve it.
Last years' results shouldn't matter for this year - with the only exception being an undefeated defending national champ. Fair or not, that will never change. 11/16/2014 11:16:56 PM |

Florida St "struggled" with State and Louisville and still won those games by 2 possessions. And we are bad. We really had no business being in that game. But we're really the only bad team FSU has let hang around. Sure they struggled with ND, Clemson, Louisville, Miami. But those teams definitely aren't bad. And two of those were road games. And another was a game without their Heisman QB that they still won. 11/17/2014 8:40:38 AM |

The real surprise for me is that they don't get the benefit of the doubt. They are coming off an undefeated national championship against an SEC team with the same coach and Heisman QB. Doesn't ESPN usually slobber all over the thought of undefeated teams? 11/17/2014 8:46:55 AM |

I think FSU, Alabama, and Oregon are in solid so long as they dont lose again. The debate is gonna come down to that fourth team if the rest of the one loss teams dont lose. I think you give the nod to Miss State but depends on how much the playoff committee values conference championships because you would be putting them ahead of 2 conference winners.
I was really sad to see FSU come back and win that game because had they lost then things get really fun trying to figure out the best 4 of 7 teams. Personally I would put Ohio State behind most of the two loss teams as well, but thats just me. 11/17/2014 8:56:13 AM |

Alabama was down to Ole Miss at the end of the game
FSU was down to [error 404 not found] at the end of the game
do you see the difference?
Win. Loss. Football.
It's amazing how you just look past all of the mediocre Bama has had this year. tied with florida with 20 minutes to go. losing to arkansas in the 4th quarter. OT against a clearly meh LSU team. Bama has played exactly one game this year that fits your "potential" argument and it was against that dumpster fire in college station.

Yeah Bama really hasn't played great the entire season except for a couple of games. It's not like they've just been blowing the doors off everybody every week.
And ^^ yeah I think if Oregon, Bama, FSU win out then those 3 teams are definitely in. If Miss St, TCU, Baylor, Ohio St all win out...things will be really crazy. 11/17/2014 9:46:11 AM |

She just has better hair and make-up people. She was never a troll to begin with...but she's also not "cute" or "pretty." She's serviceable for a drunken hook-up (as long as she's not fat...never seen the lower body) or for a "celebrity bang" (akin to hooking up with a local reporter).

Quote : | "Ok so honest question, what are the good wins this year? What counts as "beating somebody?"
As the season goes on teams are going to lose games. It happens. If we eliminate LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M as "quality wins", guessing now you might as well throw Auburn in there since they lost another game, including to Texas A&M who we've established isn't good, Arizona St. must stink now too, which negatively affects UCLA's win over Arizona St. leaving UCLA as less of a quality win for Oregon now who has a good win over a Michigan St. team who just lost to an Ohio St. team who def has no quality wins other than Michigan St. but because Michigan St. only had a quality win against Nebraska who just gave up a quarter mile in rushing yards that win doesn't look very good anymore for Mich St. Does that leave the best win Baylor over a TCU team who lost to WVU who just lost to Texas, but TCU did beat Kansas St. which looks like a good win except Kansas St. has technically "beaten nobody" and lost to Auburn who we've previously established is no longer any good since they just lost to a UGA team who lost to Florida who is firing their coach. 'Bama did beat Miss St. though, but their best wins are against Texas A&M, Auburn, and LSU and we've established those teams are bad because of course Texas A&M, Auburn, and LSU all lost on the same day against "nobodies" meaning that Miss. St. was highly overrated and has NO quality wins because beating those 3 teams in a row looked good at the time but is now less impressive, so that hurts 'Bama cause for having beaten "somebody."
That leaves Florida St. We thought they had good wins against Notre Dame and Clemson but those two teams just laid eggs this weekend against teams that aren't especially good unless we are considering a Georgia Tech team that lost to Duke and UNC good? Don't think so, so that hurts Clemson who it took OT as a quality win and we'll throw always over-ranked Notre Dame out after failing to beat a school that is known more for reporting sports than playing them, and so maybe Miami is FSU's best win, but they have lost to Georgia Tech and Nebraska and if you scroll back up we remember Nebraska the team that can't tackle and Georgia Tech the team that can't beat teams from North Carolina where ECU is the best team in the state(at least if you scroll a few posts up). So perhaps it is Louisville that is FSU's best win but they have lost to Clemson who lost to GT and they lost to Virginia who is 2-4 in the ACC and that is all that really needs to be said about that.
Clearly Marshall is the best team going IMO." |

I actually agree with Earl. The SEC is still the best conference but it has been so over-hyped this year by the media (read: deal w/ ESPN). The gap between the SEC and the PAC 12, ACC, and Big 12 is not that big this year. Louisville will beat UK, FSU will beat UF, Clemson can take SCar, and I honestly think GT can give UGA a game. Sure UGA beat Clemson but that was with Cole Stoudt. Hell we could have gave Clemson a game with him in.
The biggest SEC wins are Auburn over KState, LSU over Wisconsin, and Bama over WVU.

Argue for FSU, fine. Argue ACC barely behind SEC? Watch the games. It's a different level. Arkansas would play FSU in the title game if they were in that division. ACC is pretty garbage overall. 11/18/2014 1:16:52 AM |

You can have your opinion but an Arkansas team that has played right with Miss. St. and 'Bama and shutout LSU has been more impressive than a Duke team that got beat by Miami and a bad VT team and racked up wins .
GT can always give someone fits depending on time to prepare but I think that most SEC teams are athletic enough up front to deal with it, especially compared to the ACC.
I'd take Arkansas over both. Arkansas is #5 SOS in Sargarin and ranked #23 team, while Duke is #36 with the #73 SOS, and GT is #30 with #54 SOS. I'm not a big numbers/computer guy, I go by just watching the teams play but just throwing that in there as well. 11/18/2014 9:45:56 AM |

I would argue that none of the SEC current starting QBs are NFL QBs. How can they really be on another level?
^See that's more "well the SEC teams beat up on each other" and ACC teams lose to ACC teams logic. Miami is a pretty good team this year. Duke Johnson will have a long NFL career.11/18/2014 10:24:57 AM |

there's a lot more to a football team than the qb. most important position? of course.
but it's kind of ridiculous to judge an entire conference based on the amount of starting NFL qb's. the SEC has never been a QB league. it's every other position that they tend to be head and shoulders above other conferences. elite talent is elite talent. 11/18/2014 10:36:12 AM |

It's also kind of ridiculous to say that Arkansas who is 8-14 last two years could win the ACC.
The gap between conferences is closing, anyone unbiased can see that. The SEC went 0-2 in BCS bowls last year. 11/18/2014 10:46:11 AM |

the SEC is definitely the best conference. but i do think it still gets overrates sometimes....and that other conferences aren't as bad as people like to say they are. Duke is a solid football team. But lol it's Duke, they suck at football and if they're doing ok then it must mean the ACC is heaping pile of garbage.
Just like everybody saying how shitty the Coastal is...Miami, Duke, and GT look pretty solid right now. It's no SEC West obviously, but it's not as awful as people (myself included) were saying it was earlier.
It'll be interesting to see how GT does against UGA and maybe Dabo can finally beat SCar this year
