Am i correct that you have to be .500 to be invited to the NIT? We're sitting at 15-15 right now with one game left at Notre Dame and then the ACC tournament.

Don't have to be .500 but it does not matter we are not even close to a NIT Team

I figured based on the fact we play in the ACC and have a...record.. and that we're NC State and have some tradition and a history of pulling off upsets in the post-season that we might get an NIT bid. My guess is that, assuming we lose to ND, as long as we don't get knocked out in the first round in the ACCT we'll get in.

Everyone in the ACC is pretty beatable...but our best case scenario would definitely including not running into UVa.

cat might be able to go kemba but that team went 9-9 in big east play and had two other elite players so that is a terrible analogy.

Cat going Kemba would most likely result in a loss to wake forest.

The odds are extremely low. No team has ever won the 4 games in 4 days and our lack of depth magnifies that point. Gottfried has only had two 4 game win streaks in his tenure and i don't even think we've ever beaten back to back ranked teams.

Sure, everyone CAN win, even BC can win it all. theres just no evidence to support that scenario.

^^No. Not being a good team is our achilles heel. You have to win multiple games in a row to get tired. We couldn't win 4 games in a row if the games were a week apart. We've won 4 games all season.

Given that it has TV coverage (CBSSN) and is tied to Vegas, Id imagine it may lean toward major conference schools, unlike the CBI/CIT. Would we accept a bid if offered?

Staff said we wouldn't be accepting or pursuing any post-season tournaments. Team is focused on getting healthy, apparently several of our guys were banged up down the stretch.

Pretty sure teams have to pay to be in the CBI and host games, doubt any power conference teams wanted to pay for that.

Cat is focused on getting ready for NBA workouts.

Freeman was basically hobbling and needs some time off.

Gott said Rowan and Anya were a little injured too.

Just not worth it, Cat's heart wouldn't be in it and he'd just be risking an injury before his workouts. It's not like we're clamoring to get a CBI banner hanging in our rafters.

Well...what Gott said after the Duke loss was that right now the focus was getting healthy and then they'd decide whether or not to accept any sort of bid. Unless something's changed since then, it wasn't a 100% "no" to any possible tournament.

That said, I'd be totally cool with us just hanging it up for this season.

Abu would have trouble getting a d league roster spot. If you can't be the dive man/screener it's practically a requirement to shoot threes now. I mean he's no al jefferson, Ken faried, or Zach Randolph in the post. And even those guys are relatively ineffective these days

Anya is a better nba prospect than abu. Hes at least got the size and wingspan. Hes like a poor man's bismayck biyombo
