she might have said "radical islamism" but not in the way trump wants
Quote : | "In an interview with NBC's "Today" on Monday morning, Clinton said words matter less than actions, but that she didn't have a problem using the term.
"And from my perspective, it matters what we do, not what we say. It matters that we got Bin Laden, not what name we called him," Clinton said. "But if he is somehow suggesting I don't call this for what it is, he hasn't been listening. I have clearly said we face terrorist enemies who use Islam to justify slaughtering people. We have to stop them and we will. We have to defeat radical jihadist terrorism, and we will."
Both terms "mean the same thing," Clinton continued, adding, "And to me, radical jihadism, radical Islamism, I think they mean the same thing. I'm happy to say either, but that's not the point."
"I have clearly said many, many times we face terrorist enemies who use Islam to justify slaughtering innocent people. We have to stop them and we will. We have to defeat radical jihadist terrorism or radical Islamism, whatever you call it," Clinton said later on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," reiterating, "it's the same."
The U.S. cannot, on the other hand, she added, "demonize, demagogue and declare war on an entire religion." Clinton also said she could assure Americans that she is equally committed to fighting Islamic extremism as well as protecting law-abiding Muslims." |

Just banned WaPo from his campaign events.
To be fair, Trump did insinuate Obama has sympathies with terrorists which is abhorrent but he did NOT say that he was involved with Orlando shooting as the WaPo headline made it sound.
But, seriously, he has the thinnest skin ever. 6/13/2016 4:49:37 PM |

But then he says this:
Quote : | "Donald Trump said people can figure out for themselves what he mean't when he said Monday morning that "there's something going on" when President Obama talks about Islamic terrorism.
"Well, you know, I'll let people figure that out for themselves Howie," Trump said on the Howie Carr Show. "Cause to be honest with you there certainly doesn't seem to be a lot anger or passion when he – when we want to demand retribution for what happened over the weekend."" |
Which seems like "I'm not saying, but I'm saying." It's firing up the base by saying awful non-true things but then being able to deny it and twist what he meant.

I don't see this latest incident really helping Donald out. All his theories about why it happened didn't pan out, his comments demonizing natural born citizens who have an immigrant parent seems to have irked even republicans I know, and he just comes off as unhinged. His insinuations that Obama is complicit in these attacks don't help either.
I expect he'll drop even further in the polls.
Unfavorability among even republicans is rising:
I think if Hillary can make people believe she won't ban guns, she can snipe some of these votes.

Trump is tied for his lowest point ever since last august, seems like Johnson is cannibalizing his votes more than Clinton. there's a weird outlier poll factored in by Bloomberg though, so this could be a blip. 6/14/2016 8:57:14 PM |

Trump reaches record high unfavorability ratings, at 70%. Clinton is at 53%.
There's a good break down of numbers there, 90% of Hispanics have an unfavorable view of Trump. Republicans are going to have to work REALLY hard to dig themselves out of this hole in future elections I bet. 6/15/2016 9:44:47 AM |

My hope is he goes so far off the rails before the convention that they do something to get rid of him (and not replace him with Cruz) but I doubt it will happen. I am still waiting to see who Trump's running mate is. Surely he cannot pick someone connected to the establishment. If he won the presidency, he would just end up in a scenario where both Democrats _and_ Republicans want to impeach him. And I wonder, perhaps, if that is the current Republican end game. 6/17/2016 11:17:43 AM |

If Palin could turn being a right-wing election loser into a living, trump should be able to make money off of this, but I can't imagine this doesn't hurt trumps most valuable asset-- his brand.
I think trump really wants to be president though and thought his half-assed thoughts and ideas would be good enough. I used to think trump was somewhat intelligent but he's the worst kind of idiot-- he doesn't know he's an idiot. Palin was able to turn losing into a living because her endorsements and fundraising had value after the election. I don't see Trump being in that position. Who would want a Trump endorsement? He isn't going to work as a fundraiser (he can barely bring himself to fundraise for his own campaign) and he doesn't have networks to do that sort of work for him.
Isn't Trump's base made up of economically disadvantaged white males? Who would pay to advertise on a network with that target demographic? Maybe Trump will sell ad spots, then declare bankruptcy and fold the network before having to actually do anything.] 6/20/2016 7:35:25 PM |

he has less than $1.3M cash on hand as the end of May. 1 in 5 dollars spent has gone back in to his pocket or those of his kids. he's got zero - literally zero - dollars in TV spend. and he spends all of his rally time talking about primary victories from 3 months ago

He'd be cashing in on his self-perceived strength of his brand in an area where he doesn't have a shred of expertise, just like various other failed products under the Trump brand. He probably looks at Ted Turner and Rupert Murdoch and thinks he's their peer so he's entitled to a network too, all while being enough of a luddite to not realize that now is the wrong time to be getting into cable tv. 6/21/2016 7:40:57 AM |

He doesn't have a functioning campaign, his numbers are dropping fast, most of the GOP elite despise him, the Koch brothers are not supporting him, his campaign doesn't have any money, and he's not able to raise money because GPO doners don't think he's serious about the general, and he's not setting up any ground game in the battleground states. How exactly do you view this ending, if it's not with Trump quitting at some point? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/06/21/this-number-in-donald-trumps-very-bad-fundraising-report-will-really-worry-gop-donors/
He's already laid the groundwork for said exit plan: “it would be nice to have full support from people that are in office, full verbal support. With all of that being said, I may go a different route if things don’t happen.”
He's not in this for the general. He's in this for him, as always. Which is why my money is on him quitting at the convention where he launches Trump News. http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2016/06/donald-trump-tv-network
