i know! i took her outside for awhile at 9 and had to drag her ass out, too. she was sleeping and wouldn't get up (grumpy). i tried to make her do shit but she just sat down, lol. i guess now she's hyper. plus my dad went to bed and got up due to a work emergency so he was downstairs in his office (and he is usually asleep right now) so she was super excited everyone was awake.

but i hid her annoying toy and now she's just eating and acting normal. crazy bia. i feel bad for kitty. kitty got the wrath

Yeah. I hear that. I applied to about 3 bank teller jobs and haven't heard back from any of those either. Makes me a solid 0-20 on the job hunt. Ughhhhhhh What do i do?

yea it was really hard. well mostly the endurance part was hard.

and it doesn't suck that bad. if i passed i still wouldn't have a job haha

hah thanks. i haven't 100% decided if i am going to retake it. my professors are trying to force me into it, but i feel like i was forced into it to begin with so it needs to be something i want to do on my own. but i think i'm getting there.

Why would you not take it? Not to be harsh, but I can't see any benefit to not taking it. I mean isn't a J.D. pretty much useless without being able to practice in a given state?

(I'm honestly completely ignorant to what a J.D. can be useful for if you don't pass the bar -- not trying to be a prick)

haha you can do a lot of the same things with it as you would be able to do with any other sort of master's or higher ed degree. research, policy work, government work, think tank, ngo (esp international ngos and places like unicef, the un, unhcr, etc, etc don't care if you have your license, but you cannot get a job there without some specific higher degree...law, medicine, whatever), business, etc. a J.D. can have a bigger pull than like a master's in political science. yes, it is more typical to take the bar and practice, but there are other things that you can do...

as stated before, but possibly not in this thread, i didn't go to law school to necessarily practice. and i sure as hell don't want to live here the rest of my life. so i'm just deciding what i want to do before paying a shitload of money to retake a test i don't really want to take in a state i don't really want to live in.

i think i'm much more open to practicing now after conversing with professors (the convos i had with them would have probably been more beneficial PRE bar exam, but whatever...better late than never, i guess) who insist that i must practice because i actually give a shit about people and want to do the work no one else wants to do. but i'm not sure i'm cut out to be in a profession full of horrible people (not all obviously, but a LOT of patriarchal dickheads) constantly going against the grain, or whatever. i just get cynical and apathetic easily - especially being a person who wants to do non-profit and public interest work. i have already had to explain it like 238472984 times to friends and family and its just frustrating and annoying.

i guess i've developed a jaded view of the justice system after spending 3 years learning that most of the people that go to law school go in hopes of making $$$$ not because they give a shit about their clients or the type of work they'll be doing. and spending 3 years learning that the "justice" system is pretty much anything but. it is nothing more than a system that exploits the poor, the helpless, the minorities - it just exploits the people that actually NEED the system to work. i dunno. i'm just over it.

oh and i can probably make the same salary (or more) with just my BA/without practicing than i would practicing the type of law i want to practice. so i mean, does that make it a worthless degree? i don't know. i guess it depends on how you evaluate worth. which, for most people, is money.

oh and before anyone severely judges me, several smart people in my class failed. including a couple that scored over 170 on their lsats. sooooo unfortunately grades and lsat and pretty much everything else in life are NO indicator of how one will do on the exam. people in the bottom of the class passed. people in the top failed. sucks.

hypothetically speaking, if you were going to go back to school and every school in the country had an equal program for whatever you wanted to study, and money was not an issue, where would be your top 5 schools?

so basically, what are your top 5 schools based on all qualities non-academic. or rather, what do you think they are? having physically been there is not necessary.
