I was honestly terrified the entire ride up until the moment my feet left the airplane, for about the first 30 or so jumps. like, telling myself that I could still back out and ride the plane down, I don't NEED to do this, etc.

but the moment you leave the plane it all becomes crystal fucking clear why you keep doing this. almost indescribable.

^^you can actually jump solo your first time (via either static line or instructor-assisted, as in, they get out of the plane with you and are holding onto you for stabilization but not attached in any way). I did one tandem and then started my student progression.
