williams is a guard? i guess i forgot wood. I'm thinking guys that can handle the ball. last year we had 3 and that seemed tobe one of our main problems. if somebody gets hurt we're down to 2 and things get crucial. one of our 3 is 120 soaking wet.

I don't think it is much of an issue considering Sidney will likely recruit some guards for the next class. If someone gets hurt though it could be an issue, but honestly if Harrow gets hurt then Mays isn't going to make a difference in how much better we'd be without him.

Williams played some 3 each of his first two years. Near the end of the year he was getting his minutes at the 3 behind Wood. Wood played some 2 last year as well, not much but some. If we need him to, Wood can play the 2.

^Lowe will likely bring at least one guard next year.

i stopped following recruiting closely after the Mustafa Shakur show. it's so much easier to just wait until these kids are actually in school to become interested in them. i will trust the coaches to find the best players they can (although it is hard to trust their judgement, since they thought javi was worth a scholarship)

They didn't really have much of a choice. Lowe and his staff were still new and were so behind in the recruiting races at that point with the other schools, and they had to sign a point guard in that class. IMO, we would have been much worse off if they hadn't signed Javi that year.

He sent me this three years ago when I was questioning Mays' ability to play in the ACC in a recruiting thread:
