Today I bought two 30rd AR mags from a local gun shop in Wilmington. Then I ordered three more online for a nice deal. I also bought a Ranier Arms lower with a trigger kit and magpul pistol grip for $130. I'm a happy man

PS: Backwater gun shop in Wilmington was so crowded that the law office across the street opened their parking lot up to handle all the customers lol

the popular reloading components have started getting scarce again, so i went ahead and picked up 2k small rifle primers, lb of H110, lb of Power Pistol, and 200 more of those .45 185 gr montana gold JHPs today. also put in an order for 1k pieces of once-fired LC 5.56 brass. could use 1k 55 gr FMJs, but they're sold out everywhere i know to look. i passed up 2 bags of 500 each at the gun show b/c they were about $10/bag high on the price. should've got them. i don't understand why reloaders start panic buying and hording when this type of talk begins. reloaders are way off the anti crowd's radar.

are sellers jacking up gun prices to take advantage of the people rushing to buy cause they think any and all guns are going to be banned?

No, they jack up prices because demand is high, and peddle the lies to increase sales and raise fear, to sell more marked up guns.

This, too, will pass. I had been putting off buying some new magazines to take with me next week when I'm on vacation. Figures it's just my luck that this is the week nobody has any more. I managed to get 3 from Natchez before they were out, so I guess something is better than nothing. Hopefully I can get a couple more next year when everybody realizes this AWB BS is going nowhere.

if the legislation is passed, most of us stand to make a pretty good ROI on rifles and magazines.

A gun buddy of mine who runs an online store our of WA said that he sold 3,000 pmags in 4 days.
He is currently sold out and doesn't know when he will get more.

Went by Gander Mountain Monday and then again today.

Pretty much every assault type rifle the had is gone, including a pair of SCARs that they wanted $3400 for. A guy told me that their sales target yesterday was 60, but they ended up moving 190.

Put one order in for BX-25 mag for the 10/22 and going to put one more in tonight. Only one per order. Bad thing is I was at the gun show last week and forgot to pick one up

Sighhh...I've decided to start piecing together an AR myself. Terrible timing.

So, other than picking up some 30rd "clips", what else should I get before a ban possible goes through?

I'd say ammo, if they try to restrict sales.

If you can find a lower, that is what you need to be grandfathered in before any ban or restriction, as that is the registered firearm.

IF they restrict ammo. They'll restrict how much you can buy online. Or at least that's my thought.

I think ammo is fine.

Christalmighty, look at the prices of AR parts on gunbroker.com.

stripped lowers up to $585 with over an hour remaining in the auction (and that's for a Spike's...inexplicably actually a little more than a Noveske lower with lower time remaining in the auction.)

two 30-rd P-mags were up to $110, haha. WITH 8 HOURS LEFT TO GO!

What in the hell? Shit's not even banned. The GOP controls the House. I don't think stuff will be pricier than that EVEN IF it all gets banned. Does anyone happen to remember how much more expensive stuff got under the '94 AWB?

You think everything will fly off the shelves at exorbitant prices from now until the new AWB either passes or dies, or do you think eventually people will buy all the shit they want/can afford and supply will catch back up?

The run on ammo after President Obama got elected went on for what, 6 months? I mean that was totally nonsensical for it to go on for 6 hours, but at least with ammo, you can stockpile the shit out of it, and you'll eventually use it. Rifles and rifle parts are a little different...how goddamn many AR-15s/lower receivers/magazines do you need?

i laugh at the people buying these parts at inflated prices.
i can still fin mags less than $13 and lowers/complete ARs at decent prices.

tis funny watching people buy 5 mags for $130

i check the gun deal websites. like slick guns.

now i cant comment on how soon you'll get them. but every so often the mags will pop up in stock. some are back ordered. but still for their normal $11-14 per mag.

but people snatch them up quick

I don't care how long it takes to get them, as long as I get them.

Hell, I don't really even have much/any use for an AR-15, but I plan on buying at least 1 complete rifle and a couple of lowers (and some magazines) just in case they get banned and I want one in the future.

*I understand that I'll be able to get them then, too, but they'll be more expensive.

yeah. keep an eye out on the SG site. lowers will pop up every so often. (PSA lowers popped up yesterday or the day before for $120). people are selling them for almost double now. which sucks. but oh well.

north raleigh guns had a M&P lower complete with all the parts and a stock for $400.

I got a few Israeli AR mags from the Mako group. Seem pretty nice, although one was damaged. Feed lips bent closer together slightly, can't retain rounds properly on the right side. The other two seem fine.

Not only that, but I'd rather buy them private-party anyway, so as to not have any ppw on file anywhere.

I hope I can get my Tavor next year. Just sent a message to speaker Boehner, since David Price doesn't like guns and therefore cannot accurately represent me. Maybe this will help a bit more? Tell him to rally the troops and circle the wagons, etc.

I got some Israeli steel AR-15 mags from 7-62precision.com earlier this week.

Amazing customer service there. I called to make sure they were in stock, got no answer. 30 seconds later someone called me back and took my order. I suggest calling, they mentioned a shipping calculation error which they can fix over the phone. Shipment arrived 2 days early as well, and they come from Alaska.

Crap they are out of stock now, except for one 40-rd one.

I'm in no hurry, but I don't want to order something, and then in the 6 months I'm waiting for delivery, it's production become illegal.

I stopped by North Raleigh guns on Friday morning and saw them sell their "last AR", an M&P 15 optics ready carbine (ie: no sights), for $2K. Same one you could pick up at lawmen's for ~$600 after $100 S&W rebate about a year ago.
