i dont have a hand history because it was a live game, but it was probably the best read ive ever had in my life.

this guy raised 12 times the big blind. after studying his hole cards, he pounded the table once, then threw in the raise. i felt like he was psyching himself up. i look at my cards and see a king, and raise him for 3 times his bet. he calls after a taking a breath. im thinking he's full of shit.

flop comes A-10-9 and he immediately puts me all in. he has a blank stare right at the flop...he doesnt move or anything. after replaying everything that just happened in my head for a few minutes, i look at him and say "i think im ahead with king high". his eyes widen and he looks at me. i call.

flip my cards, my other card turned out to be a 2...he had 7-2. i won the hand, even though the turn gave him a straight draw with a 6.

A week ago I was playing a $5 per player game with a few friends.

I had pocket 9's and three other guys stay in for the flop. Three 6's come out. So I flopped a full house. One guy raises $2, one drops out, another guy calls, and I figure there's little chance either of them have a higher pocket pair in their hand, otherwise they would've bet more aggressive, so I go all in. They both call. Both of them each have an ace and a small card. So only two aces are left in the deck. Very next card - frickin ace. I lose. And it turns out the guy that folded had the other ace.

I lost again later that night and I had pocket 9's for that hand as well.

They take too long.......or lets say that I played for 10 hours last night and made 1/4 of my total salary for a year.

Hmmm take too long or you people that complain are too immediate result driven.

Stop thinking about immediate money and think about it as a long term thing.

They are having poblems with their domain name or something (read that on 2+2).

Just uninstall BoDog, then go to http://newbodog.com and redownload the software. it should work then.

So.... what's the best hand you've ever folded preflop?

Here's the situation..... Like 5 people left (of 10), 15,000 chips on the table. I had about 4,200, chip leader had like 5,400, and the other 3 people shared the remaining 5,400.

Blinds were 50/100, I raise UTG with QQ to 400, next guy folds, big stack reraises to 1,400. Big and small blinds fold. What's your play here?

As a note, the big stack had been playing pretty aggressively, but nothing crazy. He seemed pretty solid.

so more about this poker in arizona thing

in the gaming commission rules, you can't bet more than $150 per action in any game in any casino.

so, no limit is effectively destroyed.

however, at casino arizona there is spread limit, with the max being 2/5 blinds with a 5-150 spread with a 150 cap per street..

f'n weird.

so limit has grown in prevalence. in fact, at gila river, limit was all they ever spread. they didnt even offer spread limit.

and every game was full kill.

also, it's a jackpot casino, with $500 in promos every hour. (prlly pretty negative ev when it was full, but when i was there.. really late on a tuesday.. with like 5 tables running, it's not too bad.

they'd announce that the next hand the "cracked" promotion would be live.

so they'd write A, K, Q, J, T on a white board. If you showed down a pocket pair of A,K,Q,J,T and lost the hand, they'd come over and give you 4 $25 chips.

resets every hour.

also, they had what they called "splash pot weeknights".. every 2 hours or so on top of the cracked promo.

where they'd pick 2 table numbers out of a lottery ball shooter. bring over $100 in chips the table was using ($2 chips for mine, 8/16), and put it in the pot before the hand started.

these promos kinda make for some interesting adjustments.

I don't think it's a bad play at all. In my estimation, with that bet, he has put me in either an all-in or fold situation. With a reraise of more than 3 times my original raise, he is representing something really strong. So that puts him anywhere from AA - JJ to AK, AQ. For some reason I really sensed I was dominated, so I let it go.

As it turns out, he showed AK. So of course if I push, he's going to call, and I am basically putting my tournament life at risk for a coin flip. I hate doing that if I can avoid it, because I really feel like I can outplay most people post flop.

Big picture here, even if the guy shows 72 offsuit, I stand by this fold. I don't play for half an hour in a sit-n-go so that I can risk my stack on a coinflip.

You weren't playing 10 max. You have to adjust for the # of people.

You could have always called the 1000 and pushed for another 3000 if the flop didn't have an A or K.

his stack isn't desperate in relation to the blinds, why put yourself in a spot, where you're HOPING you're safe if an a or k doesn't flop, i say let the smaller stacks put themselves at risk before you take on the chip leader without a solid read. if he's a maniac then you have an easy push, but if he's solid, and you have played solid, then his reraise should certainly imply the range of hands feeble specified.
