you can get over 1,000,000 fans on hard now? it used to be only 600k or 800k, can't remember. update must've changed that. i'm at 890,000 or so.. i need to get a person over here one more time that is decent at the game, hah.

and i didn't see a release date for hysteria, just that it was coming out.

from today's dlc:
message in a bottle is fuuuun on drums, decent guitar
simple man is a great song, but boring on drums/guitar...relatively easy to gold-star on sightread
call me is pretty fun on both

also, holy shit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oCfalWw3AU

i don't even think keith moon could do that

heh, that kid's pretty sick. i like his fills. nice to finally watch a real drummer, in contrast to that other youtube kid. he's so trollable that it's annoying. i was tempted to write a comment about how he's a "retarted looser," but ehh, it's the thought that counts.

Full Albums start NEXT WEEK:

Hey everyone,

We're proud to unleash our first full album upon the masses- Judas Priest's 1982 classic Screaming For Vengeance! All tracks will be available separately for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points), or as a whole album for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points). Full press release here.

All the following tracks are by Judas Priest and are masters-

“The Hellion/Electric Eye”

“Riding on the Wind”

“Bloodstone”

“(Take These) Chains”

“Pain and Pleasure”

“Screaming for Vengeance”

“You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’”

“Fever”

“Devil’s Child”

This is awesome. Any other sweet albums coming?

We're also happy to announce two more albums that are in the pipeline and coming in the near future- The Cars album The Cars and the Pixies Doolittle.

What about Who's Next?

Stay tuned! We'll have updates on upcoming DLC soon, including The Who, as information becomes available.

Good to see full albums start, and I like Judas Priest....but first album? Meh.

IMO the quality of the DLCs overall are much lower that those on the disc, in terms of good and fun songs.

Where's GNR, Led Zepellin, The Who, the Stones, etc. Why not a full album of one of the newer bands? The Strokes "Is this it?" or something...

Meh.

anyone tried the $60 GH3 from surplus computers?

It says "refurbished," which makes me think used. although i've ordered some refurb stuff and it comes in looking like brand new.

http://www.surpluscomputers.com/store/main.aspx?p=ItemDetail&item=CES11674

should the 90 day warranty be of any concern?do those guitars break often or something?

hmm, hopefully there will be a little discount on Doolittle since one of those songs comes built into the game. def gonna be one of the less technical albums released, but it's still one of my all time favorites and have to play it.

I know I won't touch RB until GTA IV is complete, haha.

And a complete GNR CD would be awesome.

Just got it this weekend. This game is incredible.

LOVE the drums. As an actual drummer, I have to say I'm pretty impressed with how they realistic it feels.

As for the guitar itself, I hate it. I'm tempted to go buy a GHIII guitar just so I don't have to use the RB guitar.

just get her to try it once. all of my friends/coworkers/etc who have tried just one song are immediately hooked and most have gone out and bought it to play at home.

My girlfriend liked Guitar Hero. Not loved it, just liked it.

When I got Rock Band this weekend, I asked her to play and she's just hooked on it now. The multiplayer aspect combined with a more involved story other than just playing songs in increasing-difficulty set lists really has her loving this game.

my gf's favorite part of the game is that you can buy different outfits

she's pretty kickass on the guitar, though.

well, the hardest part is that no one I know owns it, so for her to "try it", we'd have to purchase it ourselves

^^...and what is the problem with that?

also, they have it on demo at best buy and sam's club. the one at best buy is usually beat to shit though.

the "problem" is that it's still $160 just to test it, and having just bought a house and got married, we don't have a ton of extra cash just sitting around, lol

i played it at best buy before it was released and was hooked from the first second. drag her into one of those stores and try it out.

I finally picked this up today for 360 after wanting it for months. But what the crap is up with the player profile stuff? Like if I wanted to switch from guitar to drums, a couple of times I could find no other way than completely turning off the system.

I don't think so. I'm not talking about the single player, I would just be doing quickplay and would want to switch between instruments and couldn't figure out how to do it without either backing all the way out to the title screen or shutting down the xbox.
