is it just me or are wake fans quiet as hell? (aka horrible fans)

Wake's a really small school so they just don't have a lot of fans. Considering the amount of people wearing red, there was no way they were going to be loud. Also once they went up 14-3, we never had the ball when their lead was less than 10 (except the 2pt-conversion), so there weren't any "big" 3rd downs. The stadium is open at both ends of course, and isn't built to get loud; I was on the side with both bands and I could barely hear either. The loudspeaker was excessively loud and made the crowd seem even more quiet. What I'm saying is they have their good and weak fans like every school, just a lot less of both.

i was there in the WF student section (my friend goes to grad school there and invited my girlfriend and i)...since ecu had a bye i decided to check it out..never been there before. The student section was almost no different than any other i've observed since graduating college: drunk girls stumbling up and down the steps slurring words as they pass their friends, lots and i mean LOTS of shit talking...esp when an nc state fan would walk up the stairs. The 3 drunk guys that sat behind us would yell AAAASSSSSSSSSSS HOOOOOLLLLLEEEEE!!!!! or START THE TRACTORS!!! CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP . The student section got pretty loud with a pass int. call and a no call on what should have been one, but other that, i could see that pretty much any wolfpack first down would result in "BULLLLSHIIITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!" It was def the beer talking. 4 cops came up the stairs to escort 4 older NC State fans out who were clearly entoxicated. That was the only time it was really quiet in the student section as more eyes were on the cops than on the field until someone yelled "DONT TAZE ME BRO!!!!" pretty funny. Dunno what they did but the students were cruel and abusive as they walked by. The deacon Dog was pretty good and someone else mentioned chic fil-a sandwiches. The pepsi tasted like pure toilet water as soon as the ice cubes started to melt. dunno what was up w/ that. As a stadium, it's def not the best i've ever been to but every seat was a good seat.

like turnip mentioned, it's a very small school....boosters only started throwing money into the place after winning the ACC last season. Fans there are much more passionate about Basketball than football. (and did anyone else notice the large monochrome monitor in front of that?)

I totally agree! We only had to pay $5 for parking and it was not far from the stadium, but their set up is HORRIBLE (as well as the grounds for tailgating). And their fans are absolutely horrible. I have never seen a quieter stadium in my life (and they were the WINNING team)...so no need to be quiet. Their band was soooo small too (my HS band was ALSO bigger than this). Thought this would be a better game (of course considering the outcome), but just wasn't a fun experience. We saw mostly State fans, which was awesome, and we sat in the parents/family section, but they have the worst fans.

Fuck you guys. You guys should suit up and play. Evans is an improvement over Davis/Stone or have you all forgotten those days?

God damn Evans is the best we've got and you know what I'll support any kid that wears the red and white even Bradley Pierson or John Dunlap who has done nothing this year. I will give you that first INT and the last one was a little behind Owen Spencer but that one at the end of the first half was a good throw and Dunlap should have made that play.

I hate it though, we win = Evans sucks. We lose Evans = terrible. My god did you all watch our run defense against Wake? This is what 4 years running Wake has ran the same bullshit offense against us and we still don't have a clue. Nobody makes a thread about how bad at takling our LBs are. Nobody makes threads on how Jeremy Gray or DeAndre Morgan get burnt either. I mean the whole team is not that great but you fucks take the QB and bash him like hell. I mean when you are losing by 20 you pretty much have to throw the ball to get back and even have a chance. And while you guys were on here bitching, I was at the damn game. The next person that mentions a bowl I am going to punch.

bottom line, we're an absolute miracle raly in 04 from dropping 5 in a row to Grobe. Until Obrien gets his own guys in here, Grobe will own us, I'll take a split with them over the next four years hands down since Skinner and Adams will be there for 3 of them. Grobe knows how to clean our clock, mix that in with a QB who (although the best we have) has very little chance of being semi-productive against a Wake D, and you've got disaster. The win over UNC drained everything out of our program for the week. Our D seems to give up big plays rather than sustainable drives. Although against Wake, we gave up both. The 3rd and 16 at the end of the first half, and the bomb over Gray are inexcusable, average teams don't even give these up. Evans playing from behind is scary, look at our wins (excluding Miami), all were games where we lead,confidence thing for the team. Even against Miami, we never trailed by more than 7 in the second half. If we go down double digits at any point, it forces the passing game with a QB who isn't successful at catch up.

I like tailgating there. Not as good as Raleigh but it is okay and I have met a lot of cool state people at tailgates at other stadiums. Way to show up wolfpack! I just wish we could start winning some of them.
