I've witnessed XO's inquiry and Captain's mast before.

It's not a good idea to sleep on watch, esp. after they call flight quarters and you're on the fantail.
And then call your LPO and Chief (Senior Chief Boats on top of that) liars.
And fail to answer a yes or no question from the XO.
