In that context, it's clear Obama isn't saying insurance execs are bad people. 9/10/2009 11:09:46 PM |

yeah, I wasn't responding to Hannity referring to Obama's words as "harsh"
The problem is, Obama said this: "insurance executives aren't bad people" and Hannity reported as this: "Obama said insurance executives are bad people"
then they watched a clip of Obama saying "insurance executives aren't bad people" and instead of correcting Hannity on the proper interpretation of the sentence, Luntz supported Hannity and said that "Obama is trying to demonize a segment of American society" 9/10/2009 11:19:17 PM |

i will admit that Olberman gets under my skin. he's the left's version of Bill OReilly.
and theres this morning host on AM 1090 Progressive Radio here in seattle, who absolutely drives me nuts to listen to. she's some sort of liberal icon with a lot of lefties out here, but i think shes a shrill toolbag.
but the intolerant, incurious blowhards are exceptions on the left, and most left leaning people take them with a grain of salt.
contrariwise, these kind of people all over the place on teh right, and they attract armies of stupid people to them like shit draws flies. 9/18/2009 4:58:34 PM |

They're awful. Not only are they making us look stupid now, but they're polluting the future. It will be many years before news can have a remotely Republican slant and be taken seriously by people who are, you know, sane and/or literate. 9/20/2009 4:17:28 AM |

why should we accept news that has a Republican slant? Or a Democratic slant? Or any slant? 9/20/2009 4:20:13 AM |
GrumpyGOP yovo yovo bonsoir 18191 Posts user info edit post |
I said "remotely" and I meant it. At this point, any news that makes Republicans look good seems unreliable.
And while I agree with you in principle that news shouldn't have any slant whatsoever, for the time being I accept it as an inevitability that the various sources will inevitably have one. Since most people aren't going to go out of their way to seek out unbiased news, about the best I can hope for right now is that they get it from one of the less-biased sources.
My experience has been that CNN Headline News (just the news -- not the pundit shows) is best for television, with MSNBC being worst on the left and Fox News being worst on the right. In the car, I listen to NPR, because for all of the liberal stigma it carries I have picked up on less bias there than anywhere else. 9/20/2009 4:25:55 AM |

Is it just me or do i sense a division within fox news, where bill oreilly and several others are defecting from the now popular Beck/Hannity camp they are recently starting to say things that really fly in the face of this new movement agreeing with public option, agreeing with obama's missle defense decision i think they realize that they want nothing to do with the craziness that beck brings, and also may have some jealousy of his popularity 9/20/2009 12:43:47 PM |

^ i haven’t seen the video of these Oreilly statements, but Oreilly has a way sometimes of disagreeing with something by agreeing with it… he did it during the election regarding Obama’s musical choices. You have to pay attention to the subtext of his statements. 9/20/2009 12:55:57 PM |

There was no ambiguity, he said it and also acknowledged how it was against popular view while talking to chris wallas its not hard to imagine that oreilly does not like beck he was talking to beck on his show the other day and was disagreeing with basically eveything beck said like bringing up how czars have been around a long time, etc also this is not the first time, oreilly has fought with limbaugh and other right wing conservative radio host so he doest exactly march along with them 9/20/2009 2:03:17 PM |

Quote : | "Fox News Producer Caught Rallying 9/12 Protest Crowd In Behind-The-Scenes Video " |
Quote : | "A Fox News Channel producer has been caught in a behind-the-scenes video rallying the crowd during last weekend's 9/12 protest in Washington.
The Huffington Post has confirmed that the woman in the below video — seen raising her arms to rally the crowd behind Griff Jenkins, who was reporting from the scene for Fox News — is Fox News producer Heidi Noonan.
"The employee is a young, relatively inexperienced associate producer who realizes she made a mistake and has been disciplined," Bryan Boughton, Fox News Channel Washington Bureau Chief told the Huffington Post.
The video shows the producer on her cell phone as she urges the crowd behind Jenkins to cheer louder. An "I'm A Foxaholic" poster appears nearby.
The 9/12 movement has been championed by Glenn Beck, and is designed to "bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001" when "we were united as Americans, standing together to protect the values and principles of the greatest nation ever created."
Fox News heavily promoted the protest event, and took out an ad in newspapers Friday asking how other news networks could "miss [the] story," only to have competitors hit back with proof that they covered the protest extensively. " |
