wow, both the Richardsons resigned from the team. Also, decent trade for Leonard from the Browns. Interesting day so far.

i wont give Leonard "decent trade" status until 1) i know what we gave up for this unaccredited DT and 2) he becomes unaccredited

also, my dad is buying the panthers

and about Kenny Moore...he's going to take the #3 WR spot from jarrett. he started in his place on Saturday, and its only a matter of time until we put jarrett on the trading block. it will happen.

kenny moore is a badass.

Chip Mac just emailed me his plans for change in ownership. his platform is based on the following:

-there will be no more harris teeter pass to hawaii contest, tag a kid program (liability issues), or "boom boom boom boom" song after touchdowns.
-he will be installing "Smitty-vision", the league 1st high def skycam to focus solely on one player.
-preseason games will now be half price
-preseason games will have dollar beers
-any Thursday night home matchup (like this year vs Miami) will entice fans to make the game during the work week by designating it a Thirsty Thursday event with $1 beer in Bank of America Stadium

i'll suck his dick if he can get the pathetic psl owners to stop yelling 'sit down' and 'shut up' when i stand to cheer on defensive plays.

for the most part, panthers fans are a joke.

^^^Danny Morrison. AD from TCU, NC native, former AD at Wofford (where he met Richardson b/c of Panthers training camp). Sounds like a classy choice. Interesting choice, but classy.

i really think everyone takes preseason way too damn seriously. if anyone really thinks that preseason matters well then you are a fucking fool. preseason is a joke it has no reflection with how teams are really going to play come week one. most teams are just out there fucking around and looking at the younger talent. personally i think preseason should be cut in half. two games, not starters unless they want to play or coaches need them to play for what ever reason. doesn't matter if you get the W or not. i really don't think they should really keep a score. but hell what do i or anyone else on here know.

thats kind of contradicting yourself when you think about it...if you cut the preseason in half, great, your starters are less likely to get injured...but when are coaches supposed to evaluate their younger talent and decide who makes the roster?

it's not that they haven't won any....they just look bad, especially on D. Granted, a lot of starters were out (the injury problem is another concern), but they're gonna have injuries during the regular season too, and if the backups play like this, they're dead in the water.

I was already weary of Atl and especially NO in the division (I bet NO will get to atleast the NFC champ game), but the last few weeks have been brutal in every aspect.

from a Yahoo! article's top owner rankings (http://tinyurl.com/kpyk8h):

Quote :
"3. Carolina Panthers – Jerry Richardson: Until a couple of days ago, this was going to be a feel-good tribute to a small-market owner who survived a serious health scare and resumed his place among the NFL’s elite owners. Then came Tuesday’s shocking announcement that Richardson’s two sons, Mark and Jon, had resigned from their high-level posts, and now comes the story behind it: According to a source familiar with the situation, team president Mark Richardson, a member of the NFL’s competition committee, and older brother Jon, who headed up Bank America Stadium, had clashed in recent years – partly over business-related issues, and partly over Jon’s resentment that his younger sibling had a higher-profile position. As their father’s health declined last year, ultimately resulting in Jerry Richardson’s heart-transplant operation last Super Sunday, Mark and Jon escalated their battle for control. When Jerry recovered and reclaimed his role as the franchise’s prime mover and shaker, he saw that some of the team’s minority owners were uncomfortable with the situation and warned his sons to start getting along, or else. Richardson backed up his threat Tuesday; rather than choosing one son over the other, he got rid of both of them, announcing Mark’s replacement as team president (Danny Morrison) the following day. Gulp. This will make for a reasonably awkward Thanksgiving dinner, don’t you think? Beyond that, it will cause the league’s other owners to feel far less secure about the Panthers’ succession plan. Whereas Mark was a highly regarded heir apparent, no one in league circles knows anything about Morrison, who had been serving as TCU’s athletic director, or what might happen after Jerry is no longer running the team (both sons retain ownership interest). My first reaction after all of this drama was to drop Richardson in the rankings, but the more I thought about the situation, the more I could see his perspective. Richardson, while the controlling partner, is part of an ownership group. Though I’m sure he didn’t relish the thought of firing his sons, doing so sent a message to his partners that he’s putting the business ahead of his personal interests. It’s all very Tony Soprano, and a part of me absolutely digs it. If Morrison turns out to be an unsuitable replacement, Jerry will get dinged in next year’s rankings, but for now I’m leaving him in the No. 3 slot. As the chair of the NFL’s Management Council Executive Committee, he’ll play a pivotal role in the crucial labor showdown that will play out over the next 18 months (or, quite possibly, into a lockout-interrupted 2011 season). I don’t know how the NFLPA will react to his presence across the table, but after what just went down in Charlotte, I have to admit I’m kind of scared of the guy."

the first part of that article gives some pretty interesting insight into a deal Kraft and Goodelle made with the TV networks where they will make bank even if there is a lockout

Claimed RB Tyrell Sutton from Packers.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/09/06/panthers-claim-running-back-sutton-from-packers/

So I guess the last roster spot is going to DT or a return man. I'd be happy with either even though we really need another fatass. But then again I think our kick returners have dropped the ball more than they've caught it. Maybe Mark Jones makes a return to the cats.

for ONCE, charlotte.com is faster than florio

and apparently Sutton had some nice returns in the preseason, I'm guessing thats why we got him

he'd at least be of great use twice a year against TB and then even moreso by telling us what the fuck we always do wrong on defense, lol
