I'm thinking of selling my copy on the 360 and switching to pc. How does it run, performance wise and network wise.

I used to play competitive CS. I don't mind playing with competitive people, I just can't take the network issues with the console version anymore.

I cannot have fun. I don't do poorly, I'm always on the top3 if not number 1, but I can't keep switching from TF2 on the PC to this game on the xbox. I mentally can't allow myself to put that game in the drive.

Thankfully I have yet to experience any lag or FPS issues on PC -- it runs great. A few of my friends had some pretty bad issues with FPS/Lag during the first day or two but as soon as the first few patches hit everything started working flawlessly.

If you play on the PC and still have FPS or Lag issues, delete your config and mp config files. Next time you start the game reset your settings to whatever you want and you should be good to go as well. For whatever reason a lot of people who got the patch still experienced issues until removing these files and letting them rebuild.

I played for a while, but I got pissed at all the little kids with microphones playing objective based games.

"Why are you planting the bomb? Let them at least blow one up. Waaaah waaaah waaah. You're ruining my spawn camping with the nube toob." Then the kid starts talk shit about how he's got a higher K ratio than me, even though he doesn't - he's just young and doesn't understand fractions. They also get pissed that I have twice as many points as them because I've planted all the bombs and defused half of them.

does placing a suppressor on a weapon lower the damage?
It doesn't look like it on the meters, but i used a sniper rifle with a suppressor and i NEVER got a 1-shot kill

supposedly the way range works is that it makes the bullets lose damage after a certain distance. if a suppressor lowers the range then in theory your bullets power will be the same at point-blank range, but at distance they will be weaker.

I'm going to try and play some Saturday, but my performance level will be dependent upon the NCSU/UNC game outcome. If we win, then KDR will be 2+ all day out of sheer exuberance. If we lose, I'm looking at more like 0.3 KDR thanks to my lack of patience, irritability, and lingering effects of alcohol abuse (coping measures).

never ever put a silencer on a sniper rifle in this game. you think it would be a good idea but it is not. plus don't snipe in black ops, there is no point.

suppressor is weaker in this game than in MW2, and certainly more weaker than in w@w. i had been using it + ak74u + ninja for sneaking up behind the team, but damn cant hit a target more than a few feet away for shit.

i heard one time that the longer the bullet travels the less damage it does according to the range statistic

so putting a supressor on a sniper rifle really hurts...i think out of my like 1500 deaths, 5 have been from sniper rifles

everytime i hear that snap sound i'm like wtf. using an assault rifle or light machine gun is usally better in all instances in this game than a sniper rifle, there are just no lanes. i miss thermal sniping on wasteland

they should have removed sniper rifles altogether after COD4. The only thing sniper rifles encourage you to do is sit down and camp. People don't camp nearly as bad in this game, and when they do it is in a location that's reachable with a flashbang or some quick maneuvering around the map. The sniper rifles are exactly what they should be in this game - slow an ineffective.

might need a new power supply...I think Microsoft will send you one for free since they had some kind of electrical risk / fire hazard scare a couple years back...they sent me one and I didn't use it until my other one started making all the lights in my apartment start going off and back on

so you should be able to get one for free but you'll have to wait for them to ship it to you

What is it with people bitching about "camping"? If that's the way someone wants to play the game then who cares, it's just their way of playing the game. There are times when it's smarter to move around and times when it's smarter to stay in one place, there are advantages and disadvantages to both. It all depends on how the other team is playing, the map, the situation, and to some degree your style of play as to which is better at any given time. What makes you mad about it? That they aren't making themselves easy enough to kill?

As someone else mentioned, probably bad brick. You can buy a replacement on ebay for $20-$30. I would suggest borrowing a friends to make sure that is the problem.

marathon/lightweight/commando 1887s WAS bs (and hell yeah i used that shit it was fun as hell)

but they fixed that.

If you consistently got killed by that setup but with tac knife after the fix then you suck


I definitely bitched about the thermal scope because in the killcam you couldn't even tell where people were sometimes.

OMA was kind of garbage only because it made gameplay retarded. I never did that shit so i ended up having to decide between walking into a barrage of grenades or waiting for the two people on the other team who werent doing it to run around the corner to kill.

In this game everything is balanced pretty fairly, that being said most of the classes i've come up with aren't very fun to play or at least i don't feel like i'm doing very well even if i have like a 4 or higher ratio. Avoiding death in this game without camping is pretty impossible for me at least and it kinda bugs me.
