The best and indeed only argument that they have is with regards to the level of punishment for one badly written plagiarized paper was perhaps too severe.

^ He admitted to UNC compliance that Wiley helped him on multiple assignments and in different classes. This is NOT one paper with bad citations.
This is where its going to get interesting... the timeline. Did UNC know and report to the NCAA that McAdoo cheated multiple times only to then go in front of the NCAA later and say "its his own original work"??? 7/13/2011 6:38:09 PM |

^^ well Baddour already stated publicly in December that it was "his work." Well, uh, we've seen how that went. It also speaks volumes as to the integrity or lack thereof in the honor court at UNC. Honor court said he had citation issues and suspended him for the semester from football, all the while the kid is still on scholarship and taking courses this spring for free. When a simple 5 minute google search yields evidence of overwhelming plagiarism, what does that say about your honor court that only found citation issues?? UNC should have paid McAdoo off, this is pretty embarassing for the NCAA to hire an attorney from Cary on 2 weeks notice to come in and destroy UNC's (don't kid yourself, Orr is a UNC guy) attorney (who is a former NC Supreme court justice) who has been preparing for months. Or maybe the case was just that ridiculous to begin with

Yea, I got Orr and Huffstetler mixed up, both UNC guys, I think Orr was with Ramsay. I know UNC isn't suing the NCAA, but I'm guessing McAdoo did this with UNC's blessing and somebody had to have paid his legal bills, otherwise if UNC didn't want him to do this they'd bench him if he were reinstated. One in the same to me, but yes I understand technically on paper UNC has nothing to do with what McAdoo is doing. 7/13/2011 9:03:16 PM |

If someone said your players were using PEDs, there needs to be an open investigation by the school, NCAA and media....just like what happened over agents bothering our football program.
The difference is PEDs is cheating in football, whereas agents giving Quinn a watch didn't help UNC one bit.
Oh, the NCAA isn't investigating UNC...they already released the NOA and didn't find Butch Davis or the school guilty of any cheating. The same cannot be said about TOB and his program, since it looks like nobody ever looked into the PEDs.
UNC and Butch Davis were cleared....TOB wasn't." |

Wait, wut? So by not "investigating allegations" made by UNC homers in a attempt to bring heat on NCSU, the NCAA somehow hasn't cleared O'Brien? I'm sorry, here I thought you had to be 'accused' / 'indicted' by someone to then become "cleared" at all. Absent the 'accused' / 'indicted' portion "cleared" isn't a valid adjective. The right word would be clean. As in, O'Brien is clean, and does not have his players use PED's.
Of course, for UNC drones no one else could possibly use effective training for their players. No, can't be that and good coaching! They keep beating us even when we 'assist' simpletons that can really play for us. THEY MUST BE CHEATING WORSE!!!

This whole thread is hilarious to me. UNC fans confronted with proof of joke African studies classes that hand out nothing but A's and B's, every single time. Their reaction is predictable.
1. Deny 2. Ignore it and pretend it's simply a case of "grade inflation" when apparently not a single student has received a D or F in any of these African studies classes last year. 3. Say that "everyone is doing it" 4. Make unverifiable claims about other schools doing far worse things.
Too much to copy/paste:

This is about the McAdoo article in the N&O today. Their delusion knows no limits...suddenly McAdoo's blatantly obvious copy and paste job = "not exactly 100% properly cited" papers. There's a huge difference in flubbing up a citation and intentionally copy and pasting large chunks of an essay.

I love the argument from idiots at NSCU Community College about how much harder it is to graduate from NCSU than UNC.
Yeah, it is harder for the majority of the morons that they admit to NCSU to graduate from that school. Why? Because NCSU lets just about any moron that graduates from an NC high school into their sorry excuse for college. And that means that the IQ and general scholastic abilities of those who are admitted to NCSU are much lower than students admitted to UNC. As a result (and try to keep up with my wolpfackers), the graduation rate at NSCU is going to be lower since your idiot enrollees have a hard time reading and writing in English, which means more of them are going to get sick of flunking classes (and retaking them, which is prohibited at UNC by the way) and will decide to just say fuck it and go back to the farm/gun shop/repair shop/grocery store to get a job with momma or pappa. so I agree, it is much harder for an NCSU student to graduate from college than it is for a UNC student to graduate from college. Can you imagine how hard it would be for the average NCSU student to graduate from a true research university like UNC? I'll help you out - it would be below 5% " |
