We were screwed as soon as the refs decided in the first half to not call fouls in the post. Effectively neutered our biggest offensive strength. And our freshmen gusta haven't been up to the task of shouldering the entire load. But hey refs have no effect on the outcome of games.

Second half D has been awful. I thought our first half D was ok, they just hit some tough shots and got some second chance points too.

I had to work and didn't get to start watching till about 5 minutes remaining, but I can't believe how lifeless this team has looked. They were ready for the game to end already and at the time they were down 18. That is not an insurmountable lead with that much clock left.

Seeing on twitter than we ran Manny at the top of the key in hellem's spot? WTF? why not DJ at least?

No context to this of course, but I noticed BB played over 30 min for the first time since our win streak started....hmmm.

Mixed feelings on this one. A month and a half ago, our season was over. I allowed myself to get sucked in though and had some hope at a NCAA birth. Don't know whether to be disappointed in the team or happy that they turned it around as much as they did.

^^^We did play Bates in the middle a lot. But we also played Hellems there at times. I guess the thought was if Hellems is there then that's one less shooter to kick out to. But, yeah, Bates didn't do well in that spot. For most of the first half, I thought our O was fine. We missed some shots in the paint and were unable to get to the line, but generally the O was fine. We were unable to get the bigs going at all in the first and Hellems was pretty bad...but we knocked down some 3s to make up for that. We got real sloppy in the 2nd half...probably just trying to force things. The biggest thing was Cuse couldn't miss. Our D got sloppy and loose in the 2nd half, but in the 1st half our D wasn't terrible...they just couldn't miss. In the 2nd they also couldn't miss, but had easier looks too.

BB played well in the 1st half. He's definitely outmatched defensively vs Cuse, but he hit some 3s and provided some spark to the offense in the 1st half.

I think Bates is the only player left without defensive flaws. Obviously optimistic about the freshmen next year but they aren't their yet. Hellems needs to be on every game.

Agree Hellems seemed out of it today, we can’t afford that. Cuse shot very well but our defense was pretty bad other than a few possessions where we really buckled down. I went and looked and that was the 3rd most points Cuse scored all year, pathetic.

Then when they are talking about the Davidson player protesting he says "North Carolina state player". Like fine if you mess up player names I guess but learn the teams.


Anyway I did no research about Davidson but saw they were higher seed so assume they had some good record only to see its basically identical?? How does that work?

I was cooking during the game but was attempting to listen to the tv and year, I gotta lodge a complaint about the calling too cause I had no idea what was going on most of the game because they talked about just about anything else.

But, solid win over Davidson, showed resiliency to bounce back. The seeding does seem a bit arbitrary at times but ¯\_(?)_/¯

ed. Not that we ever really were behind, but Davidson got within 4(?) after being down 11+ and we got right back and never let them get within like 10 again
