You could've just left it at the bottom of the page where nobody would see it rather then draw more attention to it.

http://packinsider.com/2010/04/video-high-school-hopefuls-ryan-harrow/

here are the videos, both are 9+ minutes but go really in depth. The best part is about halfway thru the second one when his HS coach is talking about how hard he works and then his dad talks about him growing up and getting offered by NCSU... great stuff

"By calling it a Hickson situation, that suggests that our current players aren't willing to work hard for their PT. That was the source of the "chemistry problem"."

How do you know what the source of the chemistry problem was? Were you on the team? A coach? Oh that's right, lets listen to hearsay and speculation. Even if it was lack of effort, I recognized that this was a different situation.

Quote :
"
You never deny talent that will help you. CJ Leslie will help us for the 1-2 years on the court. He'll also help us after he's gone with future recruits, just like Hickson did. The most talent we can get into the NBA, the more NBA caliber talent we'll get."

I never said to deny talent that will help us, all I said was that we don't get enough one-and-dones to keep it revolving and that we shouldn't completely deny others PT. See infra

"yeah, this is just about the dumbest argument ever. hey guys, lets not bring in great players because there is a chance that they will be too good and leave after one year. Instead, lets make sure we give our mediocre players more playing time because they could be here longer than the great player."

Actually, I said that I wanted CJL here. All I said was that I didn't want CJL to get all the PT and to make sure we don't deny all others PT. I never said to give the "mediocre" (as you call them, even though people were praising Painter as the next Hickson when we got him) more playing time. I actually said to give CJL the majority of the PT.

Bottom line (again)

Quote :
"don't get me wrong, i'd love for CJL to be in a NCSU jersey"

Quote :
"I personally, believe that since we don't get enough one-and-dones to keep it revolving, that we should develop (i.e. give them game time experience, especially in ACC play) the players that we are going to need two years from now instead of playing a one-and-done all the time (meaning that CJL should play the majority of the time if he proves to be better than everyone else, but lets not overlook the guys that we are going to depend on two years from now)"

Then why say we're going to have another "Hickson Situation?"

Quote :
"I never said to deny talent that will help us, all I said was that we don't get enough one-and-dones to keep it revolving and that we shouldn't completely deny others PT"

So we should give the PT to guys who might be here 4 years instead of guys who will help us more today? That'll work well for Chemistry when the best players don't play. That'll provide wins. That'll also probably get us more of these elite talents won't it? I mean, isn't it the dream of ultra talented players to sit on the bench behind less talented players who are going to be there longer?

Just stop

We could get 2 years out of Leslie if the lockout happens and he wants to play basketball while it's happening.

If that were the case you'd see more one and dones taking the Jennings route to the NBA

its like Knight said though. most of the one and dones can play and not even go to class in the spring semester once and still be on a championship team.

thats ridiculous to me.

That assumes european league can handle everyone going over there.

That assumes its a good thing for the Euro league to take in so many recruits that plan on going to the NBA.

That assumes that it will not be any harder to get into the NBA after going to the Euro league and the lockout is lifted. There will be classes right behind them ready to make the jump to the NBA.

They will most likely get more exposure in the NCAA and would therefor be more beneficial to stay in the US.

theres not many kids that were as good as JEnnings though...they could go to a college team that suits them well, play and be a STAR and improve their stock...whereas if they go to a Euro team and get exposed it hurts...sure they get $$ but a college team that NEEDS you and plays into your style can dramatically improve your stock

and omg, D-Wade.

That lockout happens it's a lot more likely we see Leslie in college for another year than him go off to Europe.

And yeah, no one was saying Painter was the next Hickson. Hickson was an absolute beast from day one that was going to be here 2 years maximum. Painter is and has been thought to be very raw and will likely be here 3 years minimum.

oh, snap!

if he's half the player phil ford was, we're getting a good one.

Are you serious? You can't be...

Do you think a team in Greece wouldn't love to have a guy like Leslie or Selby or Knight for a season over the likes of a Marcus Melvin or Courtney Fells?

The googling I was referring to really could be way off...the first link from "ryan harrow wrist" is from scout and mentions ryan harrow and "stinks he broke his wrist", but you really can't tell if the wrist part is talking about harrow.
